Cargo Rack Safari stile

Has any body here ever purchased this type of cargo rack?

this item is for sale on e-bay and it is too good to miss. the whole set up with the "buy Now" option is $224.00

My only problem is that I do not know for sure if the clamps will fit the runner cross bars.

look for a sufco safari rack.. or a yakima Load warrior.

I know that the yakima load warrior does clip to factory racks easy.

Youd have to contact that guy about if it would fit your vehicle.

I have looked around, and like any good looker, I am looking for the best deal in town.

I have looked at the SURCO (which I would preffer), but after buying the adaptors + S&H it comes up to be around 280.00. This guy throws in alot of freebees for the price (4 light mounts and spare tire holder). I e-mailed him, but I dont think he even knows what the cross bars on a 2003 4runner look like, he said the cross bars have to be within one inch of thickness (which I believe I meet) I replied back and told him that the cross bars are about 2.5 inches wide. I await his reply, in the mean time I hope someone here has purchase this set up and could share some info.

well most safari racks have really wide clamps but require a certain thickness to be stable to clamp too.

should be fine. yeah the surfco is a bit exp and the load warrior is even more exp.

Ive been pondering on one for a while now but dont see the need for it. Just usin my bike, ski and kayak mounts for now.. might get a basket for long trip usage

Settled

I went ahead and bought the SURCO safari rack. I'll make up for the cost by selling my THULE bike rack and the THULE clamps to hold the THULE cross bars to the factory cross bars.

I'll post pictures of my current set up in the for sale section if any one is interested.

EDIT: The Total Cost for the SURCO w/ SH and the rail adapters is 264.00 at SUMMIT Racing.com size is 45x60

this is the lowest price I could find.
