Just got my mount, looks great Drifter, plan on installing it tomorrow. So I'm pretty new to the whole CB thing and I have everything installed except the ant. to the mount.... My question is what do I need to have to secure the Ant. to the mount? My ant. is a firestick 2 if that helps, I really just want to do this correctly and not have this thing break or fly off down the road. Thanks.

I thought the fire stick came with everything you need but if all you have is the antenna then you will need this also.

call and make sure first. I went to the one by my house and they recently stopped carrying CB related items. I had to drive another 15 minutes to a radioshack that did have it. it's like $8.

truck stops usually have an awesome selection of cb stuff, and i saw some at napa autoparts too. just incase you dont have a local radioshack

Thanks for the help guys ended up getting it from a truck stop in town, ill be going there for all my cb supplies as it was a lot cheaper than radioshack. I bought a SWR meter but can't get the readings to go below 2, its just hovering right above it. Screw at the top of the ant. Is out as far as it can go. Anyone else have this problem? Looks like ill be shimming the ant higher.

I'm glad your double checking cause I'm clueless. The only ground I did was for the CB. I just ran my coaxle cable like everyone else. Attached the mount, insearted the ant stud, mounted the ant. Viola. Is there something I missed? Ill be posting a pic later this evening.

The mount must be grounded. The metal part of the antenna adapter has to touch the metal of the mount (sand off the paint in the way, bare metal to metal). Also, where the mount is screw in where the bumpstop is, sand off the paint on the mount so the screw head is directly touching the metal. The threads of the screw contact the metal of the body and ground.
You could even ground the mount easier by drilling a screw into the mount, attaching a wire to that and running it to a good ground point (IE: Ground screw for the left tail light.)
