CB antenna options

I have a Wilson 1000 "lil wil" now hooked up to a midland 75/822. Gets decent reception. Thinking of upgrading to a 5000 with the 62" antenna VS the 36" on the 1000.

Any thoughts?

My friend has a 6' on his wrangler. I don't like being outdone!

I've used the Wilson 5000 magnet mount for years. If tuned to as close to a SWR of 1 as you can get, it gives very good reception. I mount it on the rear passenger side so the antenna pattern is primarily toward the driver side front and thus toward oncoming traffic. Bring the cable in at the bottom of the lift back, up under the cargo and floor mats to the front. Use it with a Cobra 25 with the built in SWR meter.

It may be easier for me to just use a firestick and mount it to the rear bumper. I have two swing arm carriers, one for gas cans and one for a tire. So two individual mounts for antennas?. I am Planning on having CB and ham in the truck. I just need to figure out where.

Hopping up on the roof to remove the antenna is a pain.
