CBI Rear bumper - Likely my last really expensive modification

After 5 years, of having my 4Runner, I think I have finally gotten to the point of being completely done doing modifications on it! Other than a snorkel which I don't really want or some non-functional mods, I really think it's done! The CBI rear bumper looks really good, though I had a few issues with it. I go in to detail in my blog (link in signature), but thought I'd at least post a picture. If anyone has any tips/tricks/ideas on any of my issues, feel free to let me know!

I agree having the vehicle at CBI would of been better to address all your issues and make sure you are 100% happy. That is why I do not want to order a CBI rear bumper for myself.

pelfreybilt off-road is going to use my 4runner for development for their 4th gen rear bumper. So hopefully it works in my favor.

Bumper looks great, sorry about your issues. I have the camp table on mine with the "bolt" that keeps it secure. I always just screw it right back in when the table is down so I don't lose it.

As far as the spare tire mount, I have the angled one on my 5th Gen bumper. Have you tried calling CBI about swapping for an angled mount? I am sure they would swap it out for free if you sent yours back. My angled mount was missing a weld so they sent me a new one free. Their customer service has been great in my experience.

Do you mean the bike rack does not fit because the overhang of the tire/cans? If so, just buy a $20 hitch extension from Harbor Freight. That is what I did for my bike rack. The bikes stick out pretty far, but as long as you are not putting a lot of weight on it or wheeling with the bike rack on there, it gets the job done.

Once I pull the trigger on a rear bumper it will probably be the CBI, wife likes the look and functionality.
