Snow Storm 3/13/2018

March definitely came in like a lion and buried my trucks with almost two feet of snow.

Thanks man. That is nothing. That's like a dirt road with a few speed bumps for the type of wheeling we get into up here. Super easy wheeling day for us. Not challenging in the least.

I read your thread years ago, and Yes Sir, you guys definitely get it done up there! I did a weekend at Rausch Creek a couple years ago, and we have a couple spots here (old lime and phosphate mines), but nothing very expansive where you make a weekend of it never seeing the same trail twice like you guys can.

LMAO Thanks!!! I know I would. I wanted to get up to PA for the Spring Overland Trip that Sleeter and the Virginia/Maryland folks are doing next month but work seems to always get in the way for extended trips like that. I highly recommend AZ for anyone that can do it as well. Desert and Mountains is pretty much heaven for me. My only regret is I didn't go with a group to have good spotters and recovery options. Keep the updates coming, always checking in on you guys!

Back seat bottom removal.

I am contemplating buying a 18 4Runner with two rows of seats. I want to sleep in it occasionally when not wanting to pitch tent. I saw where you took out bottoms and folded seats flat on page 11. Do you snap off the plastic covers over hinges anyway you can? Once these are off would I have a few bolts to remove or does the hinge pretty much slide laterally. I couldn't quite tell from pictures.

In addition, now hard are the seat to put back in? I'm looking at 60/40 split bench.

Terrific thread by the way. Mine will be used much more modestly to get closer to some fish and save wear and tear on me. If I took some of the trails you're taking I'm pretty sure I would be puking more than driving.

The seats are easy to remove. The caps just pop off and there's a single bolt under each one. Just as easy to re-install.

Yeah, we like to wheel these trucks up here.

My RCV axle boot had torn. Looks like they had dry rotted. Lowered the front end a bit.

Rebooted RCV axle 4/25/18

RCV sent me everything to reboot my torn outer cvj. Bought the banding tool off of Amazon. Disassembled the the entire outer(race, cage, bearings and housing), cleaned out re-greased and reassembled and back in the truck. The boot was definitely a ***** to get over the shaft.

Spare Parts 4/25/18

Picked up a couple of spare parts. ARB air locker parts and a rear drive shaft.

NEA Property 5/5/18

Hit up another NEA property in VT with a bunch of friends. Wet, muddy and slippery made everything challenging and we had to use the winches more than we had liked to. Place is no joke. Second day was cut a little short due to Jared shearing an axle shaft.
