Camping/Wheeling 6/8-10/18

Hit Brookridge and the new Rutland property we cleared with some of my club Rock Bottom 4x4 and Rockaholics.

Started off with a broken air locker line which I quickly fixed.

This past weekend's trail damage report; dented in rear passenger quarter panel, destroyed passenger side mirror, dented passenger front door edge, torn air locker air line(fixed on the spot), large deep slices in tire side walls(will need to replace) and possible broken motor mounts.

Rockin'. Seriously. I would have to say you have the most fun in that 4Runner looking at the trail badges!

Like one of my friend’s told me, “You always put on a good show for the onlookers”. Thanks man. I do my best keeping up with much larger rigs. I surprise a lot of people being on the small 35s and most of the time a non functioning locker lol.

Seeing your Runner and the actual couple others that have LT and wheel sometimes makes me consider making the jump, the wallet does not want to commit.

The upkeep is also expensive. I replace bushings and uniballs yearly. Needed 2 new 12 point lower uniball through bolts which cost $36 a piece lol. It’s always out of alignment so I wear the front tires quicker, go through tie rods like it’s my job... always something.

I would bet there are only a handful of owners who wheel a 5th gen as hard as you do, AND tear it down on a regular basis. You Sir, are committed. Most certainly there has been people like myself who have looked at LT and decided against it because of your non sugar coated thread. All that body damage scares the crap out of my wimpy ass. Obviously it ain't easy being hard core w a LT. No pretty lakeside sunset pics on this build thread. Just Boulders and Broken Parts lol.

Thank you for the kind words! I always say it's a hobby that turned into a sickness for me. If you're wheeling up here, you better believe you'll be fixing things especially when you're the smallest tire rig in your crew lol. I know there's sections where I know I won't make it but I give it a try anyway. Sometimes I even surprise myself. Can't let all the big tire rigs have all of the fun. Hahaha Yeah, you won't see many sunset pictures but we like to camp and wheel when we can. I just love being out in the woods with good friends and surrounding trails. Always a fun time.

Bushings/Wheels/Tires - 6/16-22/2018

Went in for an alignment at my buddy's and was told I needed new bushing(s) in the upper arms. When pulled them I realized I clearly didn't but since I had new ones I replaced them anyway. Along with the bushings, replaced the through bolts and nuts in the upper control arms as well.

Still need a 5th spare of each.
