Hey NateMob thanks for the compliment, much appreciated! Although it seems like i could never take enough pics to capture the moment, Im sure as you know "pics never do it justice!" I've enjoyed peepin your photos too, New Mexico is really majestic.

I'm pretty lucky to live an hour away from some awesome trails, if you ever come out this way you gotta hit me up.

Here's a little quickie vid

good looking out to Slow_T4R for sending me these clips, and here's a pic I stole off of his tread haha!

TNRunner99 no worries man, wish I really had them on already, soon enough. sooo many things on my list now...
-BTW your 4Runner is badass 1st time seeing it, you have built it up nicely! thanks for reaching out

on a sidenote:
*Here's a few shots from today, a better look at my freshly smoked stock tail-lights. (Also removed my rear bumper decals to clean things up)

really dig the stance of your 4runner! You're the reason for my sign up on this forum :)

I'm tempted to buy a toytec ultimate lift kit and paint my wheel black. Or get fj cruiser wheels and put on 285/75/16 tires!

I'm a college student on budget and i do have cash to buy the lift. Thing is, i'm still saving for some new shoes and I'd be stuck with stock wheels for quite some time (probably till march). Do you think it'd look stupid if i lift it now and wait on the tires?

this is my ride. brown 98 limited 150k all stock with hankook atm tires. I dislike the rear end sag it has and it looks bad with a trailer hooked up lol.

Hey thanks man! This forum has definitely helped me a lot, there are so many ways that you can mod your 4R to make it perform better off-road, and to make it visually stand out.

The Toytec Ultimate lift kit is a good route to go, that kit is much better than what i'm currently running. If you could find some FJ wheels I would consider that a score and pick em' up asap.

I lifted my 4R first then, 4-5 months later I got some 285's, I don't think it looks bad at all with 265/70/16 tires. I'd say go for it man, lift it 1st then save up for tires.

*Just a word of advice- make sure you are up to date maintenance wise before spending a bunch of money on a suspension upgrade.

Here are some pic's after I lifted it with 265/70/16 tires

Also got this in the mail yesterday, just purchased 1 to see if they were legit, got em' on ebay for $1.65. (36 leds)

The LED replacement works great, just ordered another set for the rear dome light. I can actually see now, this pic is crappy quality, it's much brighter in person.

FLIPPED THE HITCH!!

-just gained some much needed clearance, still need to hit it up with some paint...

I've been wanting to do this for awhile now, pretty easy mod to do, and the best part is it's free!

I've always dragged ass (scraping my hitch) when rock crawling, this should definitely help that issue.

Are those LEDs a direct plug n play?

-Thanks man, she is looking rather sexy lately... haha! :iagree:

-Yup they are plug-n-play, it literally took me only 10 seconds to install. Just had to wait a few weeks for the boat to arrive, totally worth it.

Oh and by the way, I'm so jealous of all that snow you have over there! :smow: It's so dry over here...

small update

Painted Rear Drums, Painted Hitch, and Painted wheels...

My wheels were previously "Matte Black" but turned into "Flat Black" after 6 months, so I used something with a little more gloss.

Looks pretty good, came out clean! :bigok:

What paint did you use for the wheels? I did the back of mine this weekend and it says it doesn't harden for 7 days.

Damn 7 days to cure, must be some high end stuff. I just used some cheap spray paint from Home Depot the brand is called "Quick Color" gloss black it's only like $2 bucks a can.
I did really light coats since i already had a black base, sorted just misted it on. This stuff dries completely in 2 hours or less.

Did you re-paint the rims with the tires still on them? Did you have to get them re-balanced after?

Yup I did paint the wheels with the tires still on, i just used index cards to mask off the tires, all wheels were taken off though, 1st was the front wheels, then did the rear.

Dude the rims look really good painted! Makes me want to get off my lazy ass and paint mine, the plastidip is fading fast and I don't want to keep touching it up all the time. Good work man!

Damn bro...lotta progress so fast, looks good!
IMO, the red accents look good. I'm watching Transformers 3 on TV while typing this, makes me think about it looking like a Deceptacon ready to transform......rawr. lol.
