Centre Consol lights not working (pics)

So I just bought a 2000 4runner. Having never driven at night I realized when I drove it last night that the centre consol is completely dark, aside from the AC button and the rear window button. The dash gauges are all lighting up fine. Does anyone know why only the heat controls and radio would have no light and the AC and window button would have light? Sorry I am a bit of a newb especially when it comes to electronics...

Check the bottom plug in the Center Junction Box (by the Steering Column)--big 20 pin black plug #3F on Page 26 attached below. The ones that are dark all home run from there (hot and ground). The ones still working are on Plug #3D.

Or, it could be the bulbs. I don't see any other possibilities.

Illumination EWD also attached.

Congrats, you have a rare working 3rd gen clock!

Are they really that rare? Mine works just fine, what breaks on them, the lighting or the clock itself?

The connection to the backlight goes south. The clock keeps working, you just can't see it. There are a number of threads on DIY fixes. Mine died about 2007.
