Yea most brands do not make any covers for uniball. Is it possible to make a boot ? Probably!! But unfortunately there isn't. And therefore it needs more maintenance and attention to keep it clean. I own BUILT RIGHT UCA. And I live in NJ. Close to ocean. And in winter they lay salt. I have no rust nothing on my uniball. But everytime I wash the car. I wash the uniball with power wash then use a blow gun to get the water out and add DRY LUBE. And from time to time before I get into the car I just double check then for rust or wear. And I went wheeling in mud/water and all good. Yea there's dirt sometimes sitting. But it has like a vinal built in around the uniball so rocks or dirt don't get trapped under.

I've had zero issues with rust on my FK uniballs and they are fully exposed and have spent most of their life in the Utah winters where they use a ton of salt. I keep them fairly clean and lubed, but everything else rusts but the stainless uniballs do fine. People don't usually run covers since it's harder to clean the uniball out since shit will get sucked in from the bottom still.
As for boots, no idea why no one makes them, probably because there's so much variance from one vehicle's uniball kit to another as far as mounting and stuff goes so it's not worth designing a new boot when the uniballs don't have much issue.

Yep, every rusted bolt that comes off my truck gets replaced with stainless grade 8 bolts from the hardware store.
I ordered the blue ones hoping the issues would be fixed. From the looks they addressed the issues metal sleeve is long enough. Grade 12.9 hardware. No slug adapters. And added dust covers. I need to install them to see how many bad words/beers/hammers it takes but im pretty impressed so far

yep, those are the same ones i got too...look good for sure. Waiting on wheels before i do these, 5100's springs and lower ball joints. Hopefully not much longer!

that is a much lower price than others... wonder if they really are made of quality.... I've heared uppers aren't really much weight bearing on our 3rd gen's...
sounds like a decent strength, as long as cold cracking doesn't occur on the welds

not exactly. the type of oxide that stainless steel forms is non permeable and stays adhered. rust that forms on steel is porous and flakes off and will continue to react with the steel until its all rust.

For those interested in the UCA. The quick fix to short sleeves is having All-Pro sell you a set for 38.00.
BTW, their current design has a cap for the uniball, but I'm less inclined to like that idea due to them not being weather proof, so junk can get stuck underneath them and not allow for regular cleaning and lubing. But I feel the same about the Icon design too.
Also, I just pulled mine after about 15,000 miles. Uniball is still as good as new, tight with no piting or corrosion. All the welds are solid still as well.

Or you can buy them directly from FK Bearing, and save some money. All-Pro buys them from FK, and doesn't even repackage them before sending them out. I can get the part number tonight when I get home is anybody wants it.

Any news on these rear links? I really need some new extended ones but I can not afford $400 for the uppers and $400 for the lowers that others are charging.
