And I'm talking about the little silver rings you can't see in this picture. Or am I just an idiot and toytec sent them to me on the lowest perch, like i need them right?

Yeah you'll want to move it to the bottom. I believe they come on the top setting. Your best bet is some reverse action pliers. Something like this:

I cant see your pic but since you said perch I'm thinking you're talking about bilstein 5100s. I just used a screwdriver.

If you go the reverse action plier route, the ones you'll probably need are going to have a different end than what I see pictured above. I think snowrunner was just posting pics of a reverse/snapring pliers.

Again, the only pic I see above is snowrunners so I assume you are talking shocks.

[MENTION=56109]cj80cruiser[/MENTION] yes I'm talking about the billies as well as [MENTION=21950]sn0wrunner[/MENTION]s pic, I really was greatful for the picture of the tool. no pun intended but I am the guy to go to homedepot and try to find it myself rather than giving a half baked explination to an employee so he can wonder aimlessly with me

I highly recommend just using a flat head screwdriver or two to save time and cost though. Just work up one side of the clip at a time.

Yeah lots of tools can get the job done. I'd agree that is probably not worth the money, unless you are changing c-clip settings all day every day. Like others have said, a screwdriver or needle-nose pliers should work too.
