Choice of Gear Oil

I'm getting ready to change my rear differential oil and was wondering if this would work? If I buy 7 quarts, it's free shipping and would be enough for 2 oil changes.

Also, locally someone is selling Toyota factory's gear oil for a great price, but it's for an LSD and mine is not. Is it OK to use LSD gear oil in a non-LSD differential?

The rear calls for straight SAE90 gear oil. Its kinda hard to find in stores so most people just use 75w90 which is the same for front diff and transfer case. Not sure about the 85w90 for the rear.

I use Mobil 1 75-90 in front and rear diffs. I buy it at Walmart they have the best price. You need I believe 5 quarts for front and rear. T case I run the Toyota stuff.

Maybe someone who has used the products you linked will come in.

The oil you are considering says for transmissions that require Gl-5. Doesn't mention differentials. I would stay away from for diffs.
LSD gear lube fine in non-LSD.

Yeah, I’m just paranoid. Plenty of people run the Mobil 1 75-90 in all three (both diffs and tc) with no issues. I’m up at 165k so just weary of replacing it with something new.

That being said I’m a weirdo that runs all Toyota fluids for everything, except the diffs lol.

I wouldn't use it, personally.

There's really no reason not to use the same 75w90 gear oil in the rear that you use in the front and tcase. Unless you get different gearing and/or a locker and the installer tells you to use something different that is specifically required by the gears/locker.

Probably completely overkill but the rear diff is a weak point so why not,

I have been using Redline HD shockproof for the last 15k of offroading and road tripped miles with great results. Changed it recently and it came out looking as good as new.

I used the amzoil version because you can get it in collapsible quart containers so I don't need a pump to put it in.

CaptSolo or CaptF150? All you need to do is get some quality synthetic oil to stop all of your oil leaks. And some proper WS for your WS transmission.

if you used 75/90 it was SYNTHETIC captnsolo... valvoline & most other brands dont offer conventional in 75/90, 80/90 is non synthetic. can you post a link to 75/90 non synthetic valvoline please?
