Hi, I've owned my 97 sr5 4Runner for 9yrs, I'm trying to do the switchback lights
But I can't find any kits on eBay. Where did you bought yours?? How is this installed. If you don't mind. Thanks

I do have some disclaimers about this mod (that I have learned from time).

1)The housings do not seal very well. I have them sealed with RTV silicone at the moment. The lenses crack easily if you overtighten the screws.

2) The LEDs are junk I got a warranty replacement for one a couple months ago and now, the other one has stopped working.

3)The bulb sockets do not fit the housings. You will have to enlarge the holes and secure the sockets with RTV silicone or tape.



The way they are installed use the factory wires that need to be spliced in to the new sockets for the turn signals. The white function needs a separate power wire either from the parking lights or a switch in the cab.

PolyTuff Rear Suspension Bushings

Hey man, been searching and only found the PolyTuff corporate site.

Where did you buy the rear upper/lower control arm bushings? Do you have to contact them directly?

Also do you feel a difference between the stock rubber and these bushings? Smoother, more flex?

The ride is much more controlled/ smoother over bumps. I guess I could describe it that it is not as jumpy. IDK about flex, but they seem about the same. Make sure they are greased up really good on all sides of the bushings. I do a lot of water crossings and the grease washes out after a few months and they start to squeak. I have used a spray graphite dry lube by WD that has been doing great. Also, make sure you use red locktite on the bolts because something with the poly bushings makes the nuts come loose without red locktite.

First off, nice thread and nice work. So, were you able to determine if any of the energy suspensions bushings would possibleywork for the lower rear control arm? Don't really want to buy the full poly-tuff set and mine are almost disintegrated. Thanks.

I could not find any ES bushings that would fit. If you do more searching on eBay, you can find individual kits of the PolyTuff for cheaper.

Those are great photos. That tunnel that says "24" above it, what was it built for? What is it tunneling under? The idea of driving into it made my hands sweat but I remember you are a caver. But taking your poor 4Runner into it.
