Wow those eclipse shots are incredible! Is that gas coming off of the sun? I haven't seen any pictures of the eclipse that look like that. Oh and clean build, I like it when the mods are kept to the functionality side, and not over excessive. Subscribed.

I think it's the corona. It's only visible during an eclipse like this one - total. It could be exaggerated by the clouds though. The red things are prominences - or flares. Pretty cool. Hope to see the next one on a road trip.

One of those pics remind me of Devil's Promenade at Ha Ha Tonka, the wall of a collapsed cave.

Wish my dad could do cool adventures with me like you two do!


Oh, and the trash thing? Above and beyond the best, thank you for cleaning up all that junk that shouldn't have ever hit the ground in the first place.

Awesome build sir. It took me several days but I made it most of the way through. Very impressed.

I was curious, can you recall what tire size you were running when you originally went with the offroad skinny tires? Did you have any issues with the skinny tires. I like the look of those a lot, may consider an A/T skinny when its time to replace what I have now. I would imagine they are even better in snow considering the skinnier tires just cut through the snow.

They're 235/85r16. I still have them for street tires along with 235/85r16 Cooper STT Pro's for my trail tires. The only thing I don't like about them is cornering. It isn't bad, but you can't take corners as fast with a 235/85 vs a 265/75. I will definitely be getting more sets of 235/85 in the future.

Trip report from last weekend... Pickett of course

Went wheeling with a buddy with a 4th gen. He did pretty good, but we had to turn around when he bottomed out on a rock real hard and couldn't get over it.

It was amazing how much better mine flexed than his. He was spinning tires a lot and lifting wheels. I never did either of those things :0

I got to use my factor 55 hitchlink for the first time! On both of us!


After we turned around, I cut drains in a lot of the mud holes so they will be better for next time

I attempted to take some star pictures, but after using my dad's full frame Nikon D610, it made me not want to use my old D80 any more. I'm ordering a D7200 today! I can't wait to test it out!!

On our way home, we stopped and looked at this Jeep FC150 for sale. If it wasn't rotten, it would have been a sweet little truck. They were asking $5,000. I know it's rare, but you would just be buying a pile of rust and bondo lol

She sure has come a long way






TNCaveman and I went caving and camping this weekend and had a lot of fun!

I have 2 trips worth of pictures so here we go...

This was a couple weeks ago for my fall break. I went wheeling and camping at Pickett with some friends and I met TNCaveman at Big South Fork for camping and mountain biking later on.





The 4th gen was about to hit a tree with the rear quarter panel, so we hooked up the winch and snatch block to pull him away from it




Tea Cup Rock Overlook


Here's the 1st gen doing a hill climb. We were the only ones to do it. As you can see, it's steep and wet with leaves covering a lot of it.

Here I am coming up. Had to lock the rear axle and use a bit of speed. The 1st gen walked up it easier than me with his front and rear ARB lockers and lighter weight.

This rockhouse is up past Tea Cup rock and we actually drive over it.




Here's my sleeping platform all set up.


We had an awesome campfire that night and I made pizza and apple cobbler in the dutch oven. Delicious!

Day 2:

Heading down to mineral lake. I didn't lift a tire




I'm pulled up on the bank because I had to hammer my gas tank skid after bending it down with the driveshaft :bigok:


He slid onto the hump. Some of y'all might remember me getting stuck here and getting water in the drivers side floorboard. It was over a year ago.




This is the WOW overlook. It's the closest one in the forest and my first time going to it. I have to say that it is my favorite one out there!




Our campsite at Big South Fork. We got 3 heavy rains Sunday night and the awning was very useful.

Now for this past weekend. We got up there Saturday night at around 9 haha

They finally mowed the big fields in the state forest. They were getting some pretty big pine saplings that would have gotten out of hand fast


Here is the WOW overlook again. Soooo beautiful with the leaves changing. I want to take my dad up here this weekend.

I'm toying with the idea of running the Georgia Traverse this winter. Looks super fun. Almost 400 miles and 270ish are unpaved. It goes from the South Carolina border, across Georgia, and ends at the Alabama border.

I forgot to post this up. When I changed out my alternator, the wires on the plug were almost cut all the way through. I had to get a plug from the junkyard and splice it into my harness. It was a pain to solder way down in the engine bay, but I got it tone! Shrink wrapped, electrical taped, and put wire loom on it.
