Please have patience and mercy. I can fix just about anything but i know nothing about lifts. I want a 1 inch body lift. Just a 1 inch for now. When I go on the 4crawler website I get cross eyed and see stuff. so thats what sparks my questions. The wab fab lift just the blocks and bolts are in the kit. But the 4crawler lift says i need bushings and stuff like that. so can someone please tell me if the wab fab kit is all that is needed and can someone please give me all the tips and pointers on installing these lifts all good advice is good.

Thanks in advance

Roger Brown is good, Roger Brown is great, Roger Brown is your friend, Roger Brown knows all. If Roger Brown says you need bushings, you need bushings.

All kidding aside, body lifts have the potential to be catastrophic. You could do a simple body lift by drilling out some hockey pucks and getting longer bolts, but why risk it? If I had to do a body lift, I'd go with the 4Crawler lift and not even think about it.

But now the million dollar question - why a body lift?

The million dollar question i cant really answer. I have put springs and a daystar lift on the rear and it leveled it out even raised the rear a bit higher. So i thought maybe a bl to pick it up a bit. i gave serious thought to a suspesion lift. (bj spacers and springs) But i already put money into the rear and dont wanna start over with new stuff.

I JUST put a 1" on mine last saturday. I haven't put up the pics yet, but it was easier than tying your shoes. I did it on a first gen though, so I'm not sure how different it would be. But there should be NO modifications. And don't worry about the lift itself, as long as you do it right it won't give you any problems or be catastrophic in any way. Now a 3" BL... that's scary.

Food for thought, keep the end result in mind at all times when doing mods. If your goal is bigger tires on an offroad beast, you need to buy the parts for that and not to restore stock. I'm not real clear on the daystar lift and level, but The BJ spacers and OME 2" lift are easy to install and it helps me keep the end in mind which is to have an awesome trail rig that can do some fairly decent crawling (see page one of build thread).

You might be able to sell the stuff you already have and put that towards the stuff you really need.

So for the most part a 1 inch seems like a safer bl than the rest. so for those of you that have a bl who did you buy it from or did you make it yourself?

thanks for all the great info!!

I was being facetious. Do you guys not have satire in Ohio? :D

They had it when I lived there--I don't think I was the only one with some.

As for the body lift, I definitely second the motion to go with 4Crawler's lift--they know body lifts inside and out, and won't steer you wrong. I had to put on a 3" lift (engine swap), and everything worked great--your 1" lift should be a piece of cake compared to a 3" (I needed a lot of extras to make it work, things that you won't need).
