Classics Go To Moab III

Sat. Night was crappy..... Got back from arches and found 90% of my kids and wife's stuff was soaked!!!!! We slept in the trailer and as for Sunday it was great.... Just a little cold and windy but good enough to hit hells revenge before we left.

How was the weather in camp on Sat night? Judging by what we drove through on the way back, I figured it may have been kinda nasty.

I ended up pulling out late Saturday night too. I think I caught a piece of your blizzard in Soldier Pass, it was definitely a couple minutes of white-knuckle driving!

Thanks to everyone for making this an awesome trip. It was good to hang out with old friends and make great new ones, everybody contributed to make the wheeling better. I loved it all. I'm horrible with photos - when the going gets fun is when I forget to get out and take pictures. But here's some. Most are from Kane Creek because I was riding shotgun with Puppetz.

The weather was mostly beautiful, although we got enough rain on Saturday to make Kane Creek interesting. We had one truck suffer some overheating issues and another with a chronic misfire, both issues were solved in camp between trails. Other than the usual scraped bumpers and sliders, the only real carnage was a gashed sidewall on a KM2 (but not any of the Duratracs haha) and a busted front driveshaft. It should be mentioned for posterity that the overheating, the gashed sidewall, and broken driveshaft all happened to the dork who sold his beautiful 2gen to buy a Jeep. The camping at Moab Rim Camppark was very inexpensive and close enough to town that runs for supplies or parts (or pizza) weren't a big deal at all. This crew was excellent to wheel with - no egos, no prima donnas, and no drama queens. Thanks to everybody that drove out for making this such a fun trip, I hope to wheel with all of you again soon.

Definitely next year, but we might do something between now and then, so start saving now!

Towing your rig is always a good thing. When you don't have to worry about driving it home, it changes the lines you take. You can really explore the limits of your vehicle. I learned a ton about the Sammy.
