That sucks! Not the wedding, but not being able to make it. How about I throw some money your way for the Non-Moab honeymoon and you let me borrow your rig. I mean no need to let it suffer too.

For those on the fence, here is a little video I made from last years trip. I know some of you would rather see raw footage, but I like screwing around and making something I can sit back with the kids and watch. If I did raw footage, you would barley hear anything anyways. I don't use my Sailor mouth around the kids and I think my conversations with Al would have traumatized my family.

A couple of the local guys who are coming have suggested Pritchett

I absolutely love Moab. As far as Pritchett goes, and I may not be telling you anything you're not already aware of, you really need to have at least one VERY serious vehicle along. There are winch points at the top of many of the obstacles, but not all of them; and where there aren't any, even the bypasses are exceptionally difficult (and it's a very good idea to have a vehicle that can get up those obstacles to anchor off of). Expect to do a lot of winching. Trails I really like that you didn't mention are Moab Rim, Behind The Rocks, Cliffhanger and Steel Bender. Steel Bender is the easiest of those and a really fun run (so long as it's done North to South). While Moab Rim and Cliffhanger are rated pretty much the same (at least they were the last time I looked) Cliffhanger has gotten much more difficult the last few years. If you know the right lines on the major obstacles on Moab Rim it really isn't all that tough (I've gotten inexperienced drivers in stock FJ's up and down it before). The views on Moab Rim are as good as any you're going to find in Moab. Behind The Rocks is a bear. Nearly all the major obstacles are going down instead of up, which creates a whole different dynamic for a lot of off-roaders. I personally love it. I should also mention that I really like Flat Iron Mesa, which is listed.

I have been absolutely dying to go for like the past couple of years I think.

My only concern now is I wish it were in the 4Runner. Now I have to start all over again. good thing I have a bit of time to get lift/tires. and it's all affordable for once.

Can we update the OP with confirmed/maybe of who's going? it sounds like a bigger number. just tell your families/friends "plan no trips and don't get sick!"

yeah I just figured we try a roll call again and see what people say.

my only issue is I think I need to lift this pile. the whole thing has the clearance of the gas tank on the 4runner. Good news is lifts are cheap (deciding on 3.5" or 4.5") right around $500

So far - so good.

I'll need to fix some things on the Badger before we hit the road.

1. Replace the driver's door.
2. Replace the a/c.
3. Replace the winch. I fried it on my last trip freeing a Jeep JK.
4. Full tune with all OEM parts!
5. Get the CBI spare tire carrier so I can get the damn thing off my roof!

We also have a small trailer that I'm going to use on this trip to load the coolers, and camping gear to keep it out of the Badger.

Subscribed! I've been watching this thread for a while now but I think it's time to get serious.

I'm certainly not committing to this 100% for obvious reasons, but we are shooting to be coming through that area end of April beginning of May. All depending on how leisurely we make our trip on the way back from Panama, and $$ left in the coffers. My gf and I will be losing our 2 passengers somewhere in Costa Rica so it might be a nice slowwwwww ride home.

Keeping one eye wide open on this thread. This would be an EPIC way to round out the end of our trip...

is there a date set? i been trying to set up my tundra for longer distant trips like this. not so much for heavy wheeling but to get out and explore/hike and see some sweet places. still got alot to do to the tundra but i may try to make this trip. if i can get enough days off. i can go check out grand canyon again, swing into zion national park than into MOAB

Yup. We're sandwiched right between EJS and Cruise Moab. That's the price we're gonna pay for perfect Moab weather.
