Click sound when trying to start

Just want to share some info/experience with my click click click starting issues. Everyone seems to point to a startr, battery or alternator issue for not starting. Mine is different.

I have some random starting issues. It started and didn't start in all scenarios. Hot, cold, rainy, dry, after short drives, after long drives, no rhyme or reason as to what made it start or not start.
All I would hear are clicks coming from around the passenger feet area, maybe under the glove box. And I could turn on the head lights.
Jump starting it with jumper cables also did not work. The battery tested fine, and the alternator was charging when it was running.
But push starting it DID work! And it would start up again by battery after a push start. Like seconds after, so no time to charge the battery if it was a battery issue.
Recently I did some major changes, which included swapping out the original 1984 dash for a 1986 dash and the V6 guage cluster, since I still a 4cyl cluster on my swap and this also gave me a clutch cancel button.
So....push the clutch cancel button and I can turn it on and off all day long, but use the clutch and it's a hit or a miss.
So now, under the dash, if you follow the clutch pedal is a button that is pressed with the clutch pedal when you press down on it. Looks like it has issues. I can press it with my finger. Push it in and out, then sit and use the clutch and boom sometimes it works. Clutch cancel button always works, so far....
Anyways...its on here now as a record of events sort of. If you have a click click sound when trying to start, maybe you have this issue too.

Hope it could help someone.
