So it's been turbocharged making good power and been reliable for 5 years now. I know the AFR has never been perfect and probably lean, but it worked. I recently wanted to start turning up the boost a bit so a wideband was going to be mandatory at this point.

After driving it home today after installing the 255lph pump I now know first hand the stock fuel pump can't even keep up with the little stock 240cc injectors at high rpm with my setup at 7psi.

Full throttle open loop pulls AFR would drop to ~11 and stay there until around 4.5k rpm and start going lean fast ~14 which is bad. With the new pump it drops to ~10 and never goes above 13. Step in the right direction at least. Pulls harder and feels a lot better over all.

This pump is the backbone and a starting point to more boost and more fuel I am going to force feed this pig, and she will take it like a boss or blow the intake manifold through the hood.

Your issue is not the fuel pump. Your injectors are hitting 100+% idc most likely. That pump can handle the low boost easily. I'm guessing low voltage or it was failing. 13 is very lean. Your still having the issue.

Your running a 255lph on stock fpr?? Never heard of a stock one handling that size of pump. Will make tuning really tough.

Also what you going to tune the injectors for closed loop?

True true it doesn't hurt but he was saying he was leaning out the stock 240s with stock fuel pump and injectors. I was implying the stock fule pump is capable of delivering enough fuel to suppose around 300whp. Just throwing it out there because I'm not sure many have pushed a stocker to close to 300whp and documented it.
 
How are you going to tune closed loop boost?.

With my setup I can't, but I don't find myself making much boost or go lean in closed loop. I imagine the factory ecu would just fight me trying to stay at 14.7 anyway. I'm just trying to cure going lean in a high rpm full boost situation. I probably won't have the additional injector even fire until around 4-5psi and at that point I'm trying to make boost and the throttle would be past the 80% or whatever it is that forces it into open loop.
 
Fair enough. Same thing I was doing when I was spraying 100% methanol on a progressive controller that had a built in MAP sensor. I just "drove around" closed loop boost situations.

I thought about using one of these like some people do. But then I thought it would be a fun learning experience to try and make my own and if it doesn't work then I'm not really out much.

Still not positive if I want to build or buy the actual injector holder. I guess it's spend the $100 and order a fancy one or spend $20 on materials and spend a Sunday building my own. I made a couple 3D models today, I think it would be pretty easy to just build one, but on the other hand I have no experience in blowing fuel down the intake of an engine.

Maybe I missed it, but why go with a home brew 7th injector over a water/methanol kit? Or 100% methanol? I've read a few threads where people zeroed out their 7th injector in favor of the w/m because it performed so well. Don't want the hassle of having to replenish another liquid?

I've been contemplating a water/meth kit for years and just never got around to doing it. I guess one plus is not having to refill the methanol, I always hated refilling my nitrous bottles. Then I see stuff like this and think, hey that would be a fun project.

I don't know if something like that is easily available, I just remember seeing them years ago when doing research.

This all reminds me I still want to do meth injection on my 3s-gte... the JDM ECU is never happy unless I put some 100 octane in the tank.

Post-turbo. On my truck I am blowing through the MAF not sucking through it and I don't think they like being contaminated with fuel. It would be fun to experiment with stuff like this.

D'oh. And draw-through probably wouldn't work very well with all that piping and a stock ECU (tip-in fueling, etc.).

Picked up some aluminum bars for $5 each. If I have time this weekend I'm going to attempt to build an injector holder myself.

Will you be using existing software to program your 7th8th injectors? Or designing your own? Will it be stand alone, or piggyback?

Trying my own design on this project. I wrote some code for my Arduino that reads a MAP sensor. The more boost it reads the faster the injectors pulse and would be adjustable.

I made a video demonstrating the basics. The harder I blow the faster it pulses meaning more fuel.

It fits and the hood easily clears. Probably time to look for a spot to tap into fuel pressure and order fittings and hose.
