Today I stopped and picked up some stainless hardware to get the rail mounted to the base. Instead of getting long screws I made studs that are thread locked into the base so the rail can be easily removed and also have some height adjustment. I'm going to replace the nuts with some nylocks. The fuel inlet fitting showed up but I'm still waiting on the fuel hose. At this point I'm about $36 in the mount and a total of $72 if you count the injectors.

I mentioned it in the electronics and someone posted a link of your YouTube video blowing into the pressure sensor and increasing the spray of the injector.

I've thought about using an arduino uno to control a water meth set up.
 
Finally got some time to install the fuel line and pressurize the injector assembly for the first time today. I took my time making it, but I was sure it would leak from somewhere and need refining. Started it up and surprisingly it didn't leak at all. While it was running I decided to tap the wires on the battery just to make sure the injectors worked and fuel came out, everything worked and I didn't even light my truck or garage on fire...yet...

I think the injector project may go on the back burner for a bit. I noticed the last couple days that 2nd gear is on it's way out. Driving normal it's fine, but any hard 1st to 2nd pulls it's not grabbing 2nd like it used to. 1st to 2nd feels like one big sloppy gear now. Maybe I should have shimmed the accumulators like I was going to years ago. It's my daily driver so I need to weigh my options and figure something out soon.
 
Got the transmission issue figured out. After thinking about it for a couple days and making some phone calls it was a pretty easy decision.

I did the paddle shift project on the auto because it was as close to a manual as I could get at the time and it got me by for years, but it's just not the same as grabbing gears. Now that the auto was failing it was a sign to make the truck the way I always wanted it.

Local salvage yard had a R150F out of a 99 4Runner with 130k on it with transfercase, bell housing, shifters and everything for cheap.

Grabbed a clutch pedal assembly while I was there too.

Drilled through the firewall and mounted the pedal and master cylinder.

Picked up the clutch lines from my local Toyota dealer and found a slave clinder.

Everything went pretty smooth. Took about 5 hours from start to finish. So much more fun to drive, turbocharger + 5spd = amazing.

You notice your autobox going out on Friday and by Tuesday you're already
driving its manual replacement around? Pretty good :-)

Having all the parts lined up, did all the homework on the swap, and having a facility to do it in makes it pretty easy. Being my only vehicle I had to drive it in and drive it out the same day. Only thing I overlooked was one starter bolt is 5spd specific. I had to drive it home with one starter bolt until Toyota got me the other one, couldn't find a long enough one in town.

Absolutely. I'm still waiting on a rear driveshaft spacer to show up before I go out and start abusing it though.
 
So the manual trans ends up being about an inch shorter than the automatic. I didn't have the driveshaft out of the 5spd truck to swap into mine so I had to get a spacer. Measured my J shift t-case flange and it was 66x66x11mm bolt pattern. Found one from Trail-Gear that had the measurements I needed, but it was listed to only fit 05-2015 Tacoma. Ordered it anyway and it fits perfect. The raised centric portion that fits into the driveshaft fit so good it felt like pushing two Lego together.

I feel better about abusing it now without spitting it out or twisting it off. Pretty good insurance for $37.

Looks great. I always get excited seeing your thread popup so I can see what other crazy mods youve done haha. This isnt crazy, but still awesome.
