Cobra 75 WX ST won't power up

I recently reattached the receiver after having it disconnected and stored for a while, but when I try to turn it on, it doesn't power up. I checked the fuse box and it's still connected... just won't power up for some reason.

Anyone have this experience with their Cobra radio?

Did you have the antenna hooked up? I have heard that damage can result if the mike is keyed with power on with no antenna.

Nope, antenna hasn't been connected, but then again the handset hasn't been attached either, so there's no way I could've keyed the mic without an antenna...

I recently purchased one and it worked for all of 20min. turned out that the solder connection in the connector attached to control box had broken. there is a small screw that you can remove on the connector and then twist and slide it back. Check the solder points. (eye glass screwdriver)..

Well shoot.... that means I have to pull out the control box :-\. I guess it's inevitable.

Well... good news. The CB is working again. After taking it out and using the multimeter to trace all the signals, I reinstalled it and realized that the power plug in the fuse box had been turned backwards. I didn't even know that those plugs had a polarity, but someone must have turned it around when they were working on my car at some point.
