COB's 4Runner Timeline (Pic Heavy)

Hehe well what about some sport flares or limited flares I'm sure you could find a reasonably priced set at a junk yard?

I also read Addicted off-roads front bumper isn't that much weight over stuck but I'm not sure about the 2.7 either, I mounted up my antenna a couple weeks ago but haven't had the chance to snap some pics I'll try posting some up tomorrow.

So you think $200-$300 is right? We got a quote from a guy who matched my extend a fenders for $200 to paint the hood plus he said they'd install it. The body shop mentioned that aftermarket hoods (or any body part for that matter) are not a direct fit and need to be "modified" to fit. Did you have any trouble with the certifit?

Not really a big fan of the larger flares... especially drilling. I like the black ones.

$200 is good. The guy is right, too, aftermarket is never perfect.

I think certifit is good, my only problem I had was the alignment was a tiny bit off. I just had to grind down a little lip on the stock hood bolts (the ones that mount to the hinges on the drivers side) and then I could align it like OEM. Looks great to this day.

Some pics during and directly after the work so you can see the lines:

Guess so... thanks.

You might want to check out this site. Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market I posted a thread about using it for tundra coils, but it can be used for any part. Some places have some good prices. There are plenty of places with sr5 black flares for around 47 per piece. Not sure if that is good, but worth checking out.

This is by far my favorite T4R that I've seen. I'm 17 driving a '99 4Runner like yours (So Cal), but white, and your Runner is definitely an inspiration.

I live right out of Los Angeles, San Dimas. You know, Raging Waters? Haha. And yeah, I just gotta do some quick upgrades to my little girl and we'll go!

Little update:

New mudflaps, came with new hardware which is always good.

part numbers

PT413-35966-DF MUDGUARD, 1 26.49
PT413-35966-PF MUDGUARD, 1 31.79

New bulb for rear window switch (I am so not spending $80 on an LED conversion, no thank you)

COB by "black" flars do you mean like the ones on mine?

Also with the swaybar end links, is there some sort of trick to doing them, one of mine broke and I haven't gotten around to fix it for months :lmao:. Job looks simple enough, though.

Also, how do you like the Castrol Edge stuff, I've been using Royal Purple for a while (in fact just changed my oil last week, $8.50 a quart), was wondering if next time i should save the $1 a quart and go with the castrol edge or mobil 1 stuff.

One last question:
Your grill. I want it! Can you get the the part number pretty please :)

1. Yes, I do mean like the ones on mine :P

They need a little more treatment before they'll match the new mudflaps but it won't be long

2. Nah, it's pretty straightforward. Takes not very much time at all.

3. I normally use Mobil 1, but I don't notice any difference. Works just as well... I guess... haha

4. I modified my grille, sir. What exactly did you want, the actual grille or it with the whole billet thing?

On another note, I went to driffter33's house and he made a mount for my CB antenna. It's pretty awesome, I just got around to painting today. No pics of painted product yet. If you like it, he's interested in making more. Looks great and doesn't interfere with the hatch.

Looks great James,,,Truck looks great! I'm glad you finally got them...as far as the flares matching up to the mudflaps, I posted a product that brings back life to faded black plastic on a similar thread...might be of interest to you...

Bumper & Trim Reconditioner, 4 Ounces - Restoration - Car Maintenance - Griot's Garage

Thanks bud, as far as a plastic restoring product, I'm set with some stuff I get from my work's detail department. I'll look into it if I want something else. First photo was untreated and second was after one treatment.

I see you are liking those flares of mine :D

Looks great man, almost makes me wish I kept them and got the front flaps..

Haha they're great, the front left one is a little messed up but oh well, and the rear right isn't lining up right because my bumper brackets for the rear are bent from a previous owner.

Some time and they'll be good, might replace the front left if I come across one.

Also forgot to mention, got some stuff from driffter33 including a set of OME 890's and rear OME shocks. Gonna get his front set when he replaces them and I've gotta buy a panhard drop, voila, lift!

Hey the flares look great. That antenna mount doesn't look to bad either. For a quick prototype out of scraps laying around.
