To ChildrenofBodom: I was directed to you by LINY4Runner to ask you questions about your 2.7 liter 4 cyl. I, too, have the 2.7 in my newly-purchased '97 runner. I have an automatic trans (I prefer the manual, but my choices were limited). It is a 4wd. I was wondering if the coolant had to be exclusively from Toyota. LINY says that green coolant is not too good for the cooling system in his experience. May I pick your brain about the 2.7 (3RZ-FE) version. I was told that the 2.7 is a rare engine as compared to the availability of the 3.4 (5VZ-FE). Any help would be appreciated.

Hi.
I've had the green stuff before (when I bought it) and I never really noticed any difference. I would go with the red Toyota coolant though, it was made for the truck and it should be what's in it.
My previous radiator did spring a leak, not sure if that was due to the coolant or not, but I would run the Toyota coolant just because it's best for manufacturer's standards.

First off, I need a new bumper.. trying to find one that's Imperial Jade:

The hit bent the center bumper piece, dented the driver's end (which also shifted the left mudflap forward), cut my coaxial clean in two, and bent my CB mount... in my own driveway.
A seam near the rear bumper came apart too... lovely.
Got a new mudflap, waiting to find a new bumper. Wish i could get a CBI...

Jay was nice enough to give me another mount to replace the now defunct one.
Old one is bent:
Got 2 more Oznium LED dome lights for the map lights.
Installed a 90 degree CB Coax adapter as suggested by xskydivingdudex to push the CB back a little more.
And installed a 40 watt Wolo speaker for PA. I can hear it going 90mph on the freeway! Awesome!
Also changed the clock to red thanks to GottaBeTRD... though it's way too dark to see during the day. Gonna try a different red before posting pics.

yo dud, i got a question forya can i use green coolant instead of red the red is so expensive but i hear its bad you have any problems with green

Surprising how much broke... I wish I had a CBI rear... just the standard would be my choice. Did I mention I'm in love with Shrockworks' front bumper?

No kidding! I am thinking of getting a few more... I am the second house right next to a busy street and there's only one exit out of my neighborhood. I'd love to get some of the gnarly wrecks on tape. Next door neighbor who lives practically on the main road has cameras too, been discussing him putting a camera on the intersection. We usually have about 1-2 large accidents a month.
BTW, Totally worthwhile investment. I've caught much more than just car accidents... I've already fired 3 gardeners for stealing things from our property, IE clippers, rakes, shovels, fruits (we have a lot of trees).

BTW, painted the mount and installed it already. Drilled a hole in it for another ground point

Don't take this the wrong way, because I don't mean it like that.....but, what do you need a P.A system on your truck for? Eitherway, it seems to work pretty good......

It was more the fact that the CB came with a PA option. I am the type who loves to use the things available on his vehicle, might as well have it for fun use.
For example, saw my buddy driving just a few minutes ago, said "Tony" and got his attention..
Thought it was kinda cool

My sentiments, exactly.
PS mine came today. had to go to radioshjack to buy a 3.5mm stereo to 2.5mm mono adapter. Thieves charged me $5 for it. :gun6:

I went to radioshack too... except mine just accidentally made it's way into my pocket...

EDIT: actually, I had the 3.5 mono plug that requires soldering. I used that to plug into the CB. Wire runs out through the firewall grommet around to the core support, where I just crimped on the included 2.5mm mono plug. Same idea, though.
I bought a 12" 3.5mm audio cable to plug into the other jack on the back of the speaker, might run that into the cab and leave it dangling, in case I wanna plug in my phone or something and make some fun noises
sirens and such. Using the CB mic against the speaker on the phone works but not perfectly.
