Hey everyone,

Thanks for all your comments on previous threads about this subject. I was wondering if anyone had any experiences with the TRD CAI. Comments on K&N which was on top of my list but when I saw the TRD hmmm is it better? I am still in warranty on my 08 TR4 an expect to be for a while- does it really matter or are CAI kits killing cars!? When summer rolls around I plan on doing the change but I figure plan way in advance.
Thanks all.

I have K&N CAI on mine, it definitely has a faster responds and a deep v8 tone but don't expect horsepower gain. I would 5hp max.

im not sure what you mean by "is cai killing cars" unless your referring to the filtering quality of aftermarket filters, & that debate will forever go on, if your really worried, stay with stock. personally, ive never seen a car "die" because of an aftermarket filter & ive been using them since i first started driving. as far as a CAI goes, the stock unit already is, so in my opinion, just go for the one you like the" looks" of most, all the companies argue whos does more, but the story remains pretty much the same, slightly better throttle response, maybe a liitle more mpg, & if any of the claimed HP is true, you wont see it til around 50+. other than that , its whether to go for a DRY filter , or a WET filter (because of possible maf sensor fouling) & sound difference (loud or quiet, an "open" box will be louder) if your worried about warranty, you can always replace it with the stock setup when you take it in for anything.

My comments were made after reading sticky on cai/air filters. Good to hear there ok but reading the stickys you'd say cai are worthless- maybe someone on here should change them. Will def keep stock ai. Thanks for the 411 chaz an man03999.
