Cold in the back seat

Living in Canada with COLD winters I'm not able to get enough heat into the back seat area. I've tried all various settings but if I want to keep my passengers warm my windshield fogs up. Is this a poor design? Do I have to install some supplementary heater back there? If so, what type of heating unit works and how hard is it to install?
This is a great vehicle and I want to comfortable in all seasons.

You can try installing heated seats for the rear passengers. This probably isn't the solution you are looking for, but it might be an option.

the front seat floor has extra sound deadening material that isn't under the rear seats. That's probably the cause. There are ducts under the seats so you can try running the fan at full speed.

Thanks for the welcome. I'm not sure I'd tackle the heated seat option. That looks like pro work to me. I see some small ceramic 300W heaters that are wired to the battery. I was thinking it could be mounted on the rear wheel well.

Does your 4R have the rear vents in the back of the center console? My 2012 has 2 vents there. Or are they still cold in the backseat with those blowing on high? Kinda sucks that those vents won't blow when the defroster is on.

if you are having a fogging issue turn on the AC with the heat up this will remove moisture from the cabin and help with the fogging. I do this whenever I drive in a snow or rain storm.

It does have the two vents and I can get plenty of heat going out but then I'm back to fogging up the windshield. There is plenty of heat in the front seat area and it will get too warm but the back is cold. I know I can keep adjusting the controls but there should be an easier way.

I run my defrost/foot vents in the winter. Works fine to keep the glass clear, but we only get to about -5 f max.

Thanks. I'll try the AC option. Of course now our weather has started to improve so it may be a while for the test.

I think -5F is about the same as -20C. For me the issue is from about -20C and colder.
