color-matched OEM grille

I want to put a new grille on because i've seen other 4R's around with the body color grille and I like it better than my fake chrome one. I would imagine the dealer would charge a fortune for this, same with a body shop so i'm wondering if anyone else has found a source for these. My 4R is the dark blue, I believe it's called nautical blue.

Btw yes I have googled it and all I found were chrome grille inserts (why people would want fake plastic chrome is beyond me) and there are no 4R's this new in the junkyards right now.

Rockauto.com has them but I don't think they're a lot cheaper than toyota charges.

You can also paint yours using automotivetouchup.com paint, so far all the colors I've seen have matched well. It's not too bad using the ATU adhesion promotor, then some etching primer, few coats of paint, and then I also use their clear coat.

Otherwise just watch eBay for a used one of your color to come up.

try ebay or the classified on these forums, people randomly sell them.

Or, if you want to DIY, you can buy paint color matched to your car here:
Touch Up Paint and Accessories | AutomotiveTouchup

Thanks to zopperman for referring me to this site

but of course, with all paint jobs, its a lot harder than just buying the paint, gotta prep and sand down the chrome, several coats of primer, several coats of your color matched paint and of course, several coats of clear coat afterwards

I'm happy with the accuracy of Duplicolor matching as well and it's available everywhere. It's also a lot less expensive.

thanks for the tag man.

Yup, atu is awesome, I, unlike CXS had a very poor experience with duplicolor - a buddy of mine did too and now his truck tailgate is camo...

Take a look at my build and remember i painted the grille. tell me if you can see a difference.
