Just got back from spending the past week working as a course director for the TransRockies Run - a six day stage running race from Buena Vista to Beaver Creek. The crazy runners cover 120 miles with over 20,000 feet of climbing over six days.
Our fourth stage starts out of Camp Hale heading up McAllister Gulch, over Hornsilver Mountain and down Wearyman Creek to Redcliff. In years past we would have to push our bikes up McAllister so we could ride across Hornsilver and down Wearyman, marking the course along the way. This year I decided to do it the 'right' way and take the 4 Runner.

We ended up coming back to shuttle up 65 gallons of water and other supplies for the aid station at the top. While I definitely noticed the weight the truck didn't have any issues getting up there. I love this truck.

Driving down Wearyman:
Normally there is between 2-6 inches of water on this section as the creek and the road become one. With our dry winter it didn't really happen - a couple of stream crossings but that was about it.
