Convertible FJ! Can it be done to a 5th Gen???

nah.... that doesn't do it for me. Its looks silly and if i was to do something like that in my neck of the woods, i would be under the influence of something, something strong!. California, Arizona I get it, Colorado simply impractical... well unless your rich and can have a few at your disposal!

To each their own but seeing this image below it just looks stupid. The frame of the doors remains and the suicide doors look ridiculous with "the top down"!

I would however do something like this, not to jack your thread....

Mikey, that's how I envisioned it too, just the back part... a buddy of mine had an original T4 and I've always hoped Toyota would bring that feature back but I suppose for real world use it wasn't very practical.

Having all 5 windows plus the sunroof open is pretty darn close to having a convertible as is but when I saw that I figured it was cool or different enough to share it with you all!
