Cornfed Install/Yaw-Sensor Info

Looks good. I have had 3 lift kits on my 4runner, and I never had to touch the yaw sensor. Was you alignment off at all?

The only thing i have noticed is the VSC comes on more on the street, such as when you are comming off a driveway to fast. I like the way lifted 4runners look. Way better than stock ones.
 
Airbur , Do you find it to have more of a top heavy to a little tippy feeling ?

Like a said I have the 1" waiting to install , but thinking of switching to the 2/1. since I will be doing the front no matter what , the back is the easy one .

Not sure , still on the fence. I had it a the frame and axle shop and they lifted it up 1" and then 2" and said your pretty safe with either one even though the angle of the front and rears will naturally put more stress on it , its not that big of a difference, he took measurements with some kind of electronic gage laser thing , but I really didn't keep them and went off his work . He is very knowledgeable with this stuff and I trust hid judgement.

I can truly say I was sitting on the exact same fence you are on now. I wanted to lift my 4Runner but I DID NOT want to lose much if any controllability. I was also worried about the "tippiness" you talk about.

I can tell you in all truthfulness I couldn't be happier now. While the truck looks great, it also handles great too. It is slightly stiffer, but I actually like it better than before. I always thought the 4Runner (even with XREAS) was a little "mushy" turning and cornering. The 2/1 lift has (in my opinon) stiffend up the suspension to where it should have been originally. I'm think it may have something to do with the fact that the XREAS is now extended a bit more than stock so it actually reacts quicker than without the lift...but that's just me.

Fyi...My wife also drives our 4Runner and she is the type that would comment if something changed she didn't like. While she barely noticed the elevated view out the windshield, she didn't notice anything related to performance etc.

I'm glad your happy with it , thats cool . I will put my 1" leveling kit in first and see how that works out or if I like the looks and go from there.

Can you post a pic of where the disconnect is for Xreas. I know there is one on each side . I that the things where the line go into ? I will have to try to follow some lines and see where the go , but those are hard lines so if you disconnect it to put the coil shock into the press would you not have to carry this whole hard line with you ?
 
Here's another set of pics...first pic is with the lift, second pic is without....it's on a slight incline so nose looks slightly higher than normal.

I never had a yaw sensor problem after I put the 2/1 lift on. That is strange news to me. I had the high head light problem as well, but I just said the hell with hit, I get the occasional high beams flashed at me, but I hit them back with the brights and that fixes the problem.

I am still looking for that perfect tire, what are you leaning towards for new tires? Size, brand,....?

I also have some pics on here somewhere I think they are under the off road threads...

Check my signature for the tires I'll be getting. Nothing crazy since it's still a street machine too.
 
BFG's At's. I have 30k on my set right now. They are less than 1/2 worn. I think i can get another 30 k on them.
 
How much did All American charge you? was it extra due to Xreas? Did you look at any other places?

Do you still believe the Yaw Issue?

It was right at $400. I did call around and everyone in the Denver area was around the same price. Yes, XREAS does indeed extend the time it takes for the installation. Yes, there is a yaw sensor that does need to be centered.

I'm lovin it now. No problems at all and I like the way it handles better now that before the lift.

That's so hot...I just ordered my Cornfed kit...can't find a single damn installer around here. I wonder if I can do it by myself.

Good question...I have no idea (it could just be a small electrical sensor somewhere). I could ask the installer if you'd like?
