Correct PIE adapter for a stock 2003 4Runner HU

Kmvreter - no, you do not lose functionality of your CD player (Single or 6 Disc). When you hit the CD button on your head unit, it cycles between the CD player and the PIE unit. Also hitting the Mode button on your steering wheel mounted controls (if equipped) toggles through all the selections including the PIE (FM1, FM2, CD, CD1 (Pie), etc)

... I was a little confused since the adapter's instructions say to connect one of the plugs to from the radio to the adapter, which wasn't necessary. There was an empty female connector in back of the radio, the only one that matched one of the connections from the PIE, that's where I plugged it... [FONT]

Just to clarify because I found this post confusing:
You plug the wiring harness into the PIE adapter and the radio leaving the extra terminal on the harness unplugged. Correct?

To be honest, it has been so long that I installed it, I forget where things are plugged in. I followed these instructions when I bought it, and it worked.

Yes, there is one connector on the harness that is not connected, I believe this connector is in case you want to connect something else like a CD changer. Sorry for not answering you right away!
