coy's 4runner thread (n_n)

If you put your location in on your profile page, we can see it and maybe a local member can hook you up with some of the stuff you're looking for. I have my old running boards still. I know they changed a little through the years, but if you live in SoCal, you can have them for free. Just not sure if they'd work with a '00.

Thanks for your service and stay safe over there!

thats awesome brian!! thanks!

yeah! i too live in so cal (san diego) im down to see if those running boards fit!

Greetings!

Nice teggy you got there sir :thumb3:

I vote for springs to be cut!! lol jk

I really wanted too chime in on that black runner, IDK if anybody remembers but the owner post a thread(also posted his mkiii supra) with info on his runner and if I recall he mention that was a photoshop pic... I watched his videos of his 4runner and it appeared stock height..

If you ask me photochop does wonders lol.. Maybe one of these days I'll stop being lazy and wash my t4r so i can post my build thread..

and welcome to the boards, i'm from SD too and I def wanna see where you're gonna go with your runner! I always thought a street 4runner would look sick if it was lowered a bit.

Cool, PM me if you want to meet up. I don't know if I have all the bolts anymore, but I know I have the boards and the mounts and stuff. I'm in Lake Arrowhead, but I'm down in Riverside pretty often.

yeah bro. all i see is either a lifted one or one on bags. nothing really street-wise.

i got hella rickroll'd when i was plugging stuff back in for the clock, hazards, rear defrost, etc.. well, when i was done, the oem clock didnt work anymore so i was like WFT?! i thought it was like a honda where i popped a fuse so i checked. all was good.

so i checked T4R.org about this situation. turns out theres a dummy plug holder benhind the climate control stuff. for reasons i dont know why they have it... so i rip it off the dash and replug it to a spot no where near the clock. BAM!! worked. odd...

also, bought some new meaty off-road tires.

so my wife sanded these down a bit while i worked on the wire harness for the radio. a little primer, silver metallic paint and some clear...

it somewhat matches the silver on the runner. i couldnt find the actual name of the paint but it was close enough.

thanks bro!

every little bit of work helps. now id like new speakers. those paper speakers dont do justice for sound. oh! and some tweeters. maybe a x-over system but thats not till i come back. im sure my wife wont mind how it sounds right now.

picked up a matching grey cargo cover from CL. $20! theres a piece broken off but its hardly noticable.

i looked at one from a junk yard. it was dark brown/burgundy, broken and cracked almost everywhere and looks like some birds dookied on it. the guy wanted $50 till i told him it was all broken. then he said $40. screw that guy... haha!!

thanks dood!

anyone wired up the front blinker to stay on and still blink? i plan to see if it'll work this weekend.

power wire from the corner and the power wire from the blinker. no ground. thats how i had it set up on my integra till i got fogs and just put it back to how it originally was.

big thanks to brian2sun for letting me pick up these running boards yesterday! plastics a little warped but no big deal. nothing like a little heat to form it back.

already mounted!

i know it looks odd without the SR5 flares but it gives me motivation to pick some up. only ones i found were brand new for the 8 piece set including mounting hardware for a little over $600!! if anyone knows who/where to pick some up for cheaper, please lmk. its slim pickings at the yards and CL in my area.

been looking everywhere for some OEM SR5 black flares and no avail..

i searched on google and found that bushwacker makes flares to fit the SR5 running boards. i dont have to change out the endcaps or anything. he told me that they make the flares a bit shorter for the SR5's. gonna get a bit more info to make sure they fit before i order em today!! they're about 1.5" from what was listed on the website but i'll doublecheck on the phone when i place the order. oh yeah! and see if it has that extended mud flap that goes on the rear bumper. hopefully it does. i think it'll look weird with the small flaps that i have on there now.

only drawback on ordering new (unpainted) flares is that the black wont match up with the black on the used running boards. if anything, i'll just get that black plastic renew paint stuff. imma have to paint the plastics around the front/rear bumpers too so it all matches.

anyone running BW flares with OEM SR5 boards? some pics would be great if you have em!

also, ive found an OEM roof rack for $100 and the spoiler for $70 at the local yards down here. you think those are good prices??
