Crash Pics of '00 Sport-Suggestions?

This '00 Sport will be mine in a few weeks, and it obviously needs some work. My plans outside of fixing the front end include removing the running boards, painting the wheels black, and getting some clear corners.

Since money is an issue, I was planning on picking up a certifit bumper and grill for a limited (not sure if the basic sr5 bumper would fit a sport, but i would rather have black than chrome anyway) and trying to put that on myself. I don't have much garage expierence, so I am hoping that I can figure it out.

I live in colorado, though, and see some sweet 4runners here with some burly 4x4 bumpers. Though this will be my daily driver, it will see some dirt. I can't justify a shrockworks or similiar bumper, but was wondering if there is a cheaper, lighter alternative.

Any suggestions are welcome, I won't pick this up for a while and know this is the place for advice. You guys have some badass trucks.

Looks like an easy fix. Replace hood, bumper, and grille.

Ah, a typical Maryland car. Yeah, just replace the grille and front bumper. A body shop should be able to salvage the hood, it doesn't look like it sustained much damage. If you want to replace the hood deflector, AVS makes a good one for around $40.

Oh and for bumpers, search for ARB bumpers, or if you're lucky, find a TJM-15 or TJM-17

that hoold is about $200-300 fix at a nice shop. then sell the blinkers and fogs $100. an ARB bumper $950-$1050. you're all set.

I threw away my perfect bumper when i got the ARB. yours is not bad at all. but remember to cry when the insurance adjuster arrives.

There's a big rivalry between MD and VA on who is the better/worse driver. Maryland people claim that Virginia people drive worse than they do and vice versa. I was just being facetious/a smart ass about the bumper being busted in when I saw the MD license plate .:surfer:

GT, what part of CO?

I did the same when i bought my 4r, bumper was mashed (not as bad) the only problem you may run into is if the bumper brackets are bent. when you get it take the bumper off and check everything out to see if anything else is tweeked then order as needed. We used a pry bar to bend the passenger side bumper bracket on mine, u can still tell it's a little off but who's being picky. I wouldn't mess with the hood if you can get a grill in there, put a new bug flector on it and you'll be the only one who knows.

He is actually talking about the photos from JeremyH. In the first crashed photo there appears to be no dent on the hood. The repaired photo the hood is dented.

It's all good! I am curious if the owner got mad during the repairs or if the photos just do not show all the damage.

The hood has plenty of dents....which one are you curious about? The one at the front just above the grill? It was there...must be the lighting.

The repair was extremely easy and took me all of about an hour to get the new parts installed. I did it before work one morning...

My insurance( actually the guy who hit me insurance) quoted me $1100 for way less damage than that. That was enough to get the ARB bumper and a 8000 lb winch. If you want a lighter and way cheaper ( in cost and construction) alternative to the Shrockworks bumper, get the ARB.

I have the ARB, but would love to get rid of it and get the Armorology.

Besides, it may be only a matter of time before Ric and the gang talk you into running a few trails with them. Then you will need it .

catch the 25% sale at 4wd Parts for an ARB Tacoma-$650ish plus taxes to Denver, no freight to a local store.

Am I safe in assuming that a '99 limited front bumper would fit an '00 sport 4runner? These models are nearly identical, correct?
