I'm the friend helping cfairbank build his sliders. First let me say its great to see active forums out there like T4R. I'm on all of the Landcruiser forums, but this is a GREAT site.
So I figured I would post a quick question for you guys. Has anyone made sliders that the outrigger tubing is angled upward or do most guys bring the tubing out straight from the main square tubing? We have found that the rear flare that is attached to the door sits much lower and seems to rule out that option. With our goal of keeping as much ground clearance as possible I would hate to move the main slider down just to accommodate the tubing to be angled up. Figured I would see if anyone has a link to a post of 4th gen 4-runner sliders that have the tubing angled upward for my own curiosity as we have already welded the brackets into place and its placement is now decided.
cfairbank is heading out to Cruise Moab this year with a caravan of Landcruisers... He may be the only 4th Gen 4-Runner representing you guys at the event, I'm not for sure. Anyone else going? Regardless, it will be fun watching his rig wheel and using it like Toyota intended. I know it will easily tackle the trails, I have little doubt of that!
