Dash Lights

Hey guys, awhile back I followed a write up to replace some burned out bulbs behind the hvac controls and it worked great. Now I'm starting to wonder if I have another bulb out, but I'm not sure. It's the button that raises and lowers the rear window. On mine, the little picture in the middle of the button glows, but the carrots that point up and down do not. It seems like they should because at night I have to guess which side to push. Can anyone tell me if they're supposed to be lit? If so, how to get to it? Thanks in advance.

You're fine. Toyota wasn't smart enough to include lights for the up and down arrows.

Edit: Only the window icon (center) has a light.

Yes the buttons are supposed to be lit.

There are a couple of DIY's to take your dash apart. Here's one How to Remove the Navigation Head Unit from a 2003 Toyota 4Runner

I went out and looked closer at the button, and it looks like the up and down arrows are just painted on. Thanks for the input guys.

Funny how I remember what button to push for up and down (applies to loosing or tightening nuts/bolts too):

Lefty loosey, righty tighty = Lefty loosey (down), righty tighty (up)

yeah, I know I'm weird, but it works for me!
