Ok so first off i always name my rides....so dont flame that.

Darla is a 2wd 2001 T4R 3.4 w/130k miles.

I bought this vehicle with most of the big things done to it already for 7k. I figured that was a fair price since it had a brand new set of deaver f67's and king 2.5x12 resi shocks sitting in the back seat that both sold for about 1000 dollars. So im in it for 6k.

The truck ran real well when i got it. it has throttle body spacer, headers/exhaust, intake (which i hate) relocated battery to the rear. 32in tires on some 15's.
It also has total choas uniball long travel kit up front with all the little goodies and 2.5x8 king coilovers with a resi.

The truck is fun and a few days after i bought i took strait to the dunes to give it a shake down. I broke a couple things but thats expected.

For those of you that dont know, i run my own fabrication shop in San Fran Area called Stanley Fabrication.
we do anything from hardcore offroad trucks to, hot rods, and old rat rods. Metal finishing to fine tig welding. What ever you need.

So with that in mind i bought this 4runner mainly cause it had alot of the hard stuff done..as if i cant do any of the work my self. i guess it was it had the more expensive parts already bought and payed for. The fab work is the easy part.

I didnt like my front bumper at all so i immediately cut it off and made a new one...

Well that is one heck of a way to start out with a 4Runner. You're right; most of the "BIG" stuff is already done. Looking forward to seeing what else you can't stand and end up replacing.

I love the improvised "air bag" btw!

So the air bag and the dash board were gone...along with a really crappy stereo install/wanna be GPS..
When i bought the truck the kids were like the dealer told us it would cost at lest 1100 to fix the ac cause it wasnt working..turns out the belt was gone...12 dollars later i had nice cold ac. one of the other main issues was it was missing all the venting tubes. all the air ducts behind the dash were gone, along with the glove box and air bags...im not stressed about air bags, cause i dont like em.. but i did install the air bag on the steering wheel along with the dash and all missing parts. About 200 dollars later i had the whole dash back together. The reason it was all taken out was to put a battery cut off switch on the dashboard as if it was a race truck..it isnt..so i removed it and the 0gauge wire that was running behind the dash and ran it so all the air ducts could go back in.

Looks awesome man its exactly what I want to run up front...would you fab or sell any of your bumpers? Been getting a fab shop locally to plan one out but yours are already on point and since you already have a 4runner you seem to already know what your doing...

Yeah im not that far from you either...and in all honesty i think i let the scrap guys take it...ill have to check. If you want a simple bumper let me know. Im just over in Redwood city. Next time i have a meet at the shop ill let you know.

style wasnt that bad it was more how it was attched to the truck that made no sense...it was welded to the frame and the front cross member of the body...which is on rubber...so something had to give..haha it was a really dumb setup...

Ok sounds good. PM if you ever need anything, we do full tube bending, welding plasma crap, have nitrogen in shop, tig/mig...what ever you need.

I like that bumper just have to figure out how to ship it and how to modify it for a 1" body lift...I could always pick it up from a carrier shipper at there port/shipping distribution center or whatever

Its funny how much work goes into a bumper like that..as well as thought process. Have the time it takes to build something like this off the cuff is just figuren out the lines. I tried to keep the lines with the truck. and use avilable open space, other wise it looks tacky. Most people have huge skid plates...im not into that huge skid plates..it looks like a wall most of the time...
alot of people put lights on top of the bumper as well..but i wanted to utilize that space as much as i could. that is why the lights are there...I may add two side bars going up to the outside bars...not sure yet...

I am also having a hard time for the rear bumper, becaue the rear valance on the sideskirts are missng and not sure how to run that line with the rest of the truck as well as the formed flares on the rear fender...im cutting off the rear bumper and redoing that one asap.

I love your truck. Ive always loved the baja look, and the 4Runner pulls it off so well! I am going to be getting my sliders here pretty soon and if you could get me a price on welding them up to my truck that would be sweet! I to like SCrunner would love just a simple baja type bumper like that. let me know what you could do.:driving:

I have always been into prerunners. My 06 was on the path for a while till I realized i wanted a crawler and didn't want to dump another 5k into the front end along with another 3-5k into the rear, hence the 88 and now the 97.

Its mostly used for daily driver/towing duties now though.....

If your intrested in just welding i can tig and mig...tig is more...just cause its more time consuming and costs more to weld...mig is quick and looks good. prep work...welding...possibly plating frame depends on how rock sliders are...but i dont think it would cost to much.

Those bumpers you guys want are simple...mine i built is acutaly fairly complicated bumper...but i can build the other ones fairly quick. Price depends all on if you want DOM or HREW...if your lookin just for a decent cosmetec bumper HREW is cheap and effective...i build my bumpers out of HREW but i sell DOM to clients haha... but i leave that up to the customer..DOM has a higher resale quality for instance in a bed cage or roll cage.. No one wants a mild steel roll cage.
