Deckplate mod

for the other 2 silencers i just took them off and taped them off to prevent air from getting in them, does that have the same effect for those 2?

yes and no.

it defidently gets rid of alot of the turbulence caused by the silencers, but it still leaves a small pocket for the air to get trapped in. the best option is to use the metal piece to bridge the gap so it is one smooth tube going from airbox to plentium (sp).

yea with the deckplate and the silencer mods done im deciding weather or not i like the sound.

how much different will it sound after what ive done and then if i do the elbow removal?

also a deffinite notice in pep and power

leave elbow in

for one with the deckplate already done its not going to change the power with the elbow out.

let it bring cold air from the wheel well..

with the isr done its going to be a bit louder then deckplate by itself.. its loud as hell in lamens terms

I revved my engine right beside this girl and she almost shit her pants..

but deckplate in can dampin that noise if you get annoyed of it and or takin ppl with you and want to talk with them.. I keep my plate in the car. however I dont keep it in hardly ever just when ppl are in the car and nobody wants a headache like I have right now with the ISR

you make it sound like the awesome power and noise is a bad thing! :)

A few minutes ago coming back from work some goofy guy in a hyundai was blaring rap music at me so I revved at him, and I dusted him (of course) and I'm sure that throaty sound at 35 or so MPH left hiim wondering what just happened....haha

naw brotha i love the powa!! lol

I did scare some ppl when I revved

its def fun to watch ppls heads turn lol.

but with windows up the drone does get to me though.

deckplated only it wasnt much of a drone but with the ISR there is

ISR Done

Ok, completed the mod. Hose connected to the nipple on plenum was kinda big. Used zip ties for now to hold it on. Will get some clamps tomorrow.

Neliconcept- what did you use to hold this hold on?

the hose that I had before had a different size end so I went a bought some 1/4inch hose both ends so I didnt need a clamp at all.

worked out great

hose

Ok, will do the same tomorrow. Auto parts store right? Did you say 1/4" hose and about a foot of it is all we need right?

Thanks Bro.

I bought 2 feet just in case but I used probablly six inchs so yea a foot

will prob cost a buck or so.

2 dollars and something for my tees (package) and 2 feet of hose.

take in the hose you have with you and measure the hose you want with the smaller end that hooks to the fpr.. the one that hooks to the silencer is a little bit bigger.

but the fpr nipple and plenium nipple are same size

yea like i said i kind of cheated and just taped off the silencers so its not horribly loud but there is an awesome throaty hollow sound around 3500 and 5000 RPMs and most people think i have a supercharger on it, i smoked my buddies protege and another buddies civic that i couldnt before(before i could only keep up)

However on the way home i quickly found that cops were out trying to meet quota on my main road bc everyone goes about 50 and its a 35 so i couldnt gun it to hear my beauty:biggrin2:

gas

Ok, now that we've got this thread this long, let's keep it going. I know I am not the only one enjoying this growling sound when wide open throttle. It forces us to "punch it". So now, let's have a discussion of how our mpg's are doing. Since the MOD, and normal driving, has anyone taken note of record breaking MPG's as opposed to stock? I would imagine it is better. Let's get some feedback.

What auto store did you go to? I was thinking they'd have it too at a Hardware store for maybe cheaper. I'll check it out.

i dont know, i tend to want to floor it everywhere just to hear it which im sure kills my MPG but at the same time with the 2 mods done i get better MPG, i see today which one over takes the other

7/32" hose is the correct size - it is 1/32 smaller than 1/4" so it stays be itself.

ok so after running the ISR and deckplate mod for about a day and a half, whenever i rev my engine at stand still about 5000 RPMs, when the RPMs come down they go all the way down and the 4runner shuts off, i just dont want to be driving on the highway and this happen. Anyone?

vacuum

Sounds like a vacuum pressure line issue. Am I correct? Did you route your vacuum hoses correctly as per the write-up?
