Decreasing Lift

I've been a member here for a while, and have refrained from posting too many questions (because most are solved with a simple search). However, I've come to a point with my Runner that I am in need of some assistance. Basically my dilemma is this: I want to go down in lift. Currently I've got about 3" of suspension and 3" of body (I believe the suspension is Racerunner). Currently I'm running 285/75/r16's. I'd like to decrease the amount of lift that I'm running first by taking out at least 1" of the body lift, and then about 1" of the suspension. How difficult would it be to do this? I bought the truck lifted already and haven't really had the desire to decrease the lift until now. I'm sure this is much easier than I'm making it out to be in my mind, but without having messed with a lift before I'm just unsure of myself.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I would keep the 3in in the suspension and go with a 1 in body lift, that way your not having to change out to many suspension components.

What he said ^

If you're looking to take 2" of lift off then you're better off replacing the 3" BL w/ a 1" body lift which shouldn't be TOO difficult to do (6-8 bolts depending on your year 3rd gen if I remember correctly.) Check out shootmymime's BL thread, he should be able to answer any BL questions and get you a 1" BL for a great price.
FS 3rd Gen Large BL

Awesome, thanks for the help. I'll definitely look into that. Worst case, I go with the 1" BL and just adjust my coils down about an 1" or so.

Like I said, I'm sure this is a lot easier to do than I'm making it out to be in my head. I've got a funny way of over complicating things before I attempt them.

Hey josh.

Send me an email at [email protected] and I'll send you my body lift install instructions so you can see how simple it would be to go from a 3" to a 1" or so.

If you don't mind Id like to maybe buy your 3" to see how it is made.
Thanks
Patrick
