i hit a deer on my bike 3 weeks ago at 60mph and walked away from it with a broken hip. No one wants to believe if i was in a small car i could have just as easily gotten hurt

Sorry to hear about that. I've come close on my bike and in the car a few times. But, how did you manage walking with a broken hip??

Buddy of mine hit a deer square in the side on his bike. Said the headlight housing cut a perfect circle in the side of the deer (ribs and all). It was PG and the baby popped out the back. He was actually able to keep the bike upright and stopped down the road.

I didn't stand a chance. This was a pretty big doe, probably neighboring the 200lb mark (just my luck). I hit her square in her side and went over the bars at impact. The estimated repair value of my bike was over $17.5k. It costs $15.5 to buy a brand new one off the show room floor

Had too, last mod left as far as lighting is concerned. Plus it's been on my "to do" list since I saw your mod.

Yes sir! Still considering changing HID conversion to MORIMOTO M LED as they share same mounting system. There are several advantages such as instant on, less heat, and no light fade over time. What I like is the ability to convert low beam only to a high/low beam fixture.

Todays update;

Headlights have arrived at Lightwerkz, have decided to go with D2S 4.0 with shield mod and 5,500K bulbs. M LED just don't have the same spread, plus they won't have in-stock for another couple of weeks or so. Mod should be complete by end of week..........can't wait!

Replacement Morimoto LED fogs have arrived. V-LED DRL V3's bulbs are no longer available. New V6 DRL (5,000K) with resistors ordered, but are back ordered until October. Baja Designs 20" OnX6 light bar, replacing reflectors (from driving/wide combo to spot), lens, and mounting brackets for $60.00.

Inner fender straightened.



New radiator support installed and jammed. Lower TRD CAI air box mount broken, will be replacing.
(Look at that shiny high output alternator)

Glad you're ok, definitely puts some perspective on life don't it? Surprised your airbags didn't go off? I had a similar scenario last fall but I hit the animal dead center - equally lucky outcome as well.

Thanks ColoradoToyota, sure does life can change in a instant. I was surprised to, think the 3,000 lb trailer we were towing may have helped. Glad they didn't deploy as that would have definitely totaled truck.

Glad to hear you had the same outcome, still sucks though.
