Thank 83Mule! I was amazed at the amount fur when I popped the hood, yet not a drop of blood.

Glad everyone is o.k.

Same with my hit, but I was only going maybe 35. Had just turned off of Rockville Pike in downtown Rockville, MD at dusk headed toward the Beltway. Antler hit just below the windshield. It died maybe 2 minutes later. Two guys came by in an old pickup and asked if they could have it. At least it provided a meal or two and a few grand damage to my front end.

When I first called Ins., the lady assumed I had already taken it for an estimate and asked if anyone was hurt and if the vehicle was totaled. Seems recently, they had had several less fortunate clients on the Beltway. Evidently, on some other hits the rack penetrated the windshield.

Picked up headlights yesterday but forgot to take pictures. LW did an awesome job, they look factory...........so happy! Heading over to body shop today to wire up system.

Relay harness, ballasts, high beam Y harness, and ignitors installed. Tested low beams and high beam shield..........OMF'inG these headlights are SWEET! Removed headlights and power fuse until truck is painted......fingers crossed sometime next week.

Much easier to install with no bumper in the way. Also cut the two plastic air diverter shields in preparation of reinstallation of BD 30" Stealth light bar. :thumb:





Back of headlight assembly with high beam harness. Tape placed over high beam and parking light housing to prevent dust intrusion until installation.





Combination of Trail black trim and black Apollo bezel makes headlight appear smoked when in fact it is not. LW's did a fantastic job with modification, they look factory! VERY, VERY, VERY HAPPY! Can't wait to get these puppies installed arty:

Todays update;

Truck was painted last Wednesday, looks really good! Passenger side of truck back together. Lower TRD CAI air box replaced, antifreeze refilled, AC recharged. Fog lights and DRL installed in bumper, and driver headlight hung. Received OnX6 light bar back from Baja Designs yesterday. This morning I mounted both light bars (much easier with no bumper cover), and cut upper and lower grills. Monday they expect to install headlights and complete bumper. Balance of week, reassemble balance of truck, buff paint, and clean interior for delivery by end of week.................fingers crossed :thumb3: :heh:

Gotta say, I'm really digging the trail hood with those bad arss headlights arty:

BJ, for managing the job and allowing me to work in their shop to install HID harness and light bars.
And my son Matthew, for keeping me updated on status, and taking pictures of progress while I traveled, love ya buddy!

This evening did final height adjustments for headlights, upper/lower light bars, and fog lights. Love, love, love the headlights, the spread of light is awesome, plus they look bad arss.............big change from the original SR5 lights.

Items left to complete:
Mod passenger inner fender liner
Clear bra with complete hood wrap
AVS bug deflector (broken mounts)
Seal paint (fenders & pass front door) once cured
V-LED V-6 DRL's (back order)

...........Still considering upgrading from Morimoto LED fogs to Baja Designs Squadron Sport (wide cornering)
Will also be addressing "Diminished Value" from insurance company. With a Carfax report, value will drop roughly 15-20%. What I find crazy is NADA and Manheim value truck between $26K - $28K! I paid $32,900 5 1/2 years ago.........WOW!

barryhiram - great interesting thread / when one gets involved with the auto body repair, funny how attention to detail and quality of workmanship within the trades escalate...knowledge & shared expectations, pays off.

My brother hit a non-yielding dump truck pulling a backhoe on a trailer that ran a stop sign & a deer the 2nd time / in his mint Jeep TJ, that he imported & drove back from the States himself.
- he bought his totaled Jeep off the Insurance company ($1,500) & kept a bent frame horn accident, off CarFax
- cashed a cheque for $11,000 and used a 30 year frame man to pull his magic / in a 2 car hobby garage
- and another friend to assemble & paint, after we sourced all the new sheet metal & used bumper (from wreckers)
- frame ended up laser straight & perfect gaps & easy alignment resulted
- now he has a $12,000 TJ with only $6K invested
So like yourself, a negative (accident) was turned into a win-win !!

Got any links to NADA and Manheim evaluations ?

Sunny boy bought a pair of chrome deer whistles as a joke. Found the first one affixed to my ATV helmet. Imagine my surprise when I opened my helmet bag after driving up to Millsfield Friday...........pretty funny! I can say after riding 107 miles, no close encounters of the four legged kind...............hmmm, maybe they do work?

Still searching for the second whistle, my kid is such a punk..........trained him well!

Thanks Beaumont67. Agree, clear expectations and no unrealistic timeframes up front. In my case since I have a company vehicle, my truck is not a daily driver so no pressure for completion.

Wish I could share, but company has accounts to both which I don't think they would appreciate it.
