Defiant Light Bar

Ok my California 4Runner commrades, anyone wanna be a guinea pig?? I got this response when emailing defiant about a 5th gen lightbar in the works... "Yes, there are plans to produce this. We have not yet had a 2010 4 Runner come into the shop for product dimensioning.
Once one of these shows up..all updates will be posted on the Toyota light bar section of the Defiant website.

Thanks for the info, I live 5 miles from there and called them. The only problem is that you cannot have a modified front end for that bar to work and right now demello is working on a prototype bumper for my truck. So if anyone is is going to keep their stock bumper and grilling; defiant is willing to work on the vehicle around october.

It would kind of defeat the purpose to have a Demello bumper or equivalent with light tabs on it and then have Defiant make you a simple light bar with light tabs on it.

Defiant does make some great products. I wanted one for my Tacoma before it veered way left from stock.

Yes you are correct, but when I saw light bar I thought it was something that went up on the roof...

I got a replay from Paul @ Defiant today and he mentioned that they are wrapping up on a couple project right now and will start on the 5th gen 4R towards the end of the year. They are still looking for someone who will volunteer their vehicle for dimensions etc. So anyone in SoCal.... you still can be part of the development effort it seems.

Im in , i live in San Diego and i already contact them a couple of weeks ago and got the same response just waiting for them to be able to start and will hopefully be the chosen so i can take my truck in
 
Come on my fellow 4Runners, the Defiant guys still need a 2010 TE model to create a new light bar for us...this is the response I got when emailing bout an update...

"Good morning Wendy,

I have not had anyone stop into the shop for this model year...I would like to see one before the the holiday season.
You may need to hit the forums several times to get their attention...I had this issue with the FJ Cruisers. The response for the FJ took about 1 year...those boys moved slow.

When this product number gets under way, you will see the progress on the Defiant website under the Toyota/ 4 Runner Light Bar page...or, you can email me anytime...I am ususally here 7 days a week...

I have called and e-mail them several times saying that im am willing to drive up and leave my car there for a week or so so they can do a light bar, they told me it was not in their plans for now for sure in the future and that they would let me know.
 
How funny, after I saw that last post from GAC I was like, fine, I'll drive my butt out from Beaumont to OC (bout an hour and a half drive), but then I see MAGACA has been trying to get in there, but they aren't ready for him. Tell Defiant to hurry up!
 
I just talked to the guys at Defiant, they said they would need the vehicle for about 4 weekends, thats a lot of driving, I doubt the wife would be willing to go along with it. Defiant is really looking for someone local in OC.
 
Short and long tube listed with prices

I noticed that both the Short Tube and Long Tube versions are listed on the Defiant website now for the T4R 10-11.

They are looking for people in the area for test fitting... anyone in their neck of the woods interested? I would volunteer, but it's a bit of a drive for me from the other side of the country :D

Defiant is great to deal with...

Paul is great to deal with, he did the proto-typing for the 3rd gen bar on my 4Runner. It is a process, it's not 4 straight weekends.

For me, it was a 2-3 hours in the shop the first visit for him to take measurements and enter info into his cad system and think about design.

Then he would add those brackets to an order with his lazer cutter....

You go back and he test fits the brackets...notates changes if needed

Orders another set of brackets cut

You go back, try the new brackets, test fit bar lengths

He does final welding and makes a jig to make future bars

then sends yours out to get powder coated

you go back for final fit, and pictures...

It really was a great process and cool to see how it all comes together.

Keep in mind that Defiant is Paul, he doesn't have 20 guys working for him.
