Defroster vents

All - not sure if this is the proper forum for this question.

Long story short, I may have lost my wedding ring down the defroster vents on the dash. I was wondering if anyone here had any advice on how one could access these vents to see if I did in fact drop it down there. Not sure if there is a cabin filter or where that is or if this may provide access.

I suppose I could take it into the shop, but I am not really sure if it's there in the first place. Any thoughts, tips or suggestions would be mot welcome.

I lost my ring about a week ago and I may have tossed it up on the dashboard before it vanished.

Thanks!

I would rent a borescope before I spent any money on recovery. I think even Autozone rents them out for cheap if not for free.

Mirror and a high powered flashlight may give some early clues before getting a scope, although that would be step 2.

So what is the back - story here? :whipping2 I can see putting a ring in the coin holder, or a cup holder, but the top of the dash??!?

How cute was the guy/gal admiring your truck!?! :pimp:

Ducmonsta - thank you. that was just the sort of advice I was looking for. I just called O'reilly and they dont have one, so I will be tracking one down.

Okki - if inquiring minds must know, I was at the gym last Friday during lunch. Got a business call and had to run out to my car to take the call. When I went to grab my keys and glasses (my ring was on the arm of my glasses tucked in my shoe), and that was the last time I saw my ring. Between my gym bag and the 4runner the ring went gone. I thought that I heard a rattle from within the dash the other day and it got me thinking. What If I hopped in the 4runner and just threw my ring up on the dash so that I could make the call? wishful thinking, but a simple borescope may just do the trick.
