The only ones I know of are bud built...buy you said it wasn't them. I can't believe that either - the DO ones don't look like anything I've ever seen.

Without the extra bump, is the slider out far enough to use as a step?

If someone who had the idea for the bump-out also patented it, good for them. If a company that owns the patent is making these for consumers, and is trying to defend their Intellectual Property to protect their business, that is the purpose of a patent.
I am always disappointed to hear when a patent owner has no intention of producing whatever is claimed in the patent, and merely wants to make money by threatening litigation to others they believe infringe on it. I don't know if this is what is happening in this case, but if it is, I hope it does not impact Demello to the point of bankruptcy. We need the small businesses to thrive and provide more cool creative parts the large companies would never bother with!

Well I hope that I can get ahold of BudBuilt soon then and get my damn sliders before whoever it may be goes after them. I have been calling for a week straight, but I did hear back on Facebook from someone there that Bud is sick and has been out.

I just had a question for him, all I need is to know if they are already in stock and if he can rattle can them black before shipping. He mentioned on Facebook that he had some done in black paint already (not powdercoat). Not a big deal, but if I cannot get in touch with him Monday I am going to just order them.

I googled search bump out/kick out sliders and there are a lot more companies making them. I haven't really seen or heard of many members talking about them or recommending them. My thought is this person or company is probably going after Demello due to the fact that he has an established business/good clientele. I had ordered mine back in the beginning of feb and wondering if they're still gonna honor my purchase. I have to call on Monday now to find out.

The thing is, I would think this would have to be a design, as opposed to a utility patent. And neither of these designs look similar to the DO ones. And If I had to guess, I would say NFab would have more guns in their legal department to go after small business. Still kind of sad.

Well spoke with Jessica on Monday. She said my order is still good and that they are in production. Yippy. Now just have to wait and drool on these pics until mine arrive.

They look great. I am on the fence about powdercoating. Odds are my sliders will never see sliding, but if they do, I do not want to have to look at chipped powdercoat.
I figured I'd just do a little touch up when necessary.
My front and rear bumpers got some scrapes that are beyond touching up, mostly underside, not very noticeable. Hopefully It'll be similar with the sliders.
