Poll: Demographics of 5th gen owners

I've been curious what the age of 5th gen owners is. Not a cheap vehicle and modifications make it even pricier. What ages predominate this "hobbie".

30 years old and paid it off it less than a year. Put about 7k worth of mods into since I got it in 2014.

I would be more curious on how long the average owner on this forum keeps a 4runner, my wife's car which is a slightly higher priced sports sedan is full of 20-35 year olds who seem to keep them 1-2 years on average , maybe 3 tops but its a pump and dump. Not all a bad thing as the classifieds are replenished every week with aftermarket parts people are unloading due to trade in but also makes for fewer dedicated/helpful members as many do not truly seem engaged as a hobby, maybe its for an image thing.

This forum will NOT be a representative sample of all 4Runner owners. People come here for mod/maintenance advice and/or advice on how it handles situations not found at your local mall (heavy towing, off-roading, etc.).

The vast majority of owners never stray from OEM and never leave improved roads (graded gravel is considered "off road").

That said, I'm a 41-50-yr-old structural engineer.

46, 2106 Trail Premium. I have been a lifted F-250 guy for the last 10 years. Kids are grown and gone so no longer needed the truck. Really loved it, but it would beat the crap out of you offroad. We took it to Big Bend last year and it was a terrible time, thats why I bought the 4Runner. Absolutely love it so far. Have the lift and tires completed, waiting on front and rear bumbers, rock sliders and roof rack. Hopefully I can be completed in the next 6 months.

The '16 4R Trail is my 10th 4x4 since 1964, most of them bought new. '64 Intl Scout, '69 Land Rover, '75 LR, '83 Chev Blazer II, '89 Isuzu Trooper, '96 Jeep Cherokee, '08 Mitsu Outlander, '14 Jeep Cherokee, '15 Jeep Wrangler, '16 4R Trail. I won't try to classify them except to say that the 4R is definitely the best 4x4 I've ever owned, and the last 2 Jeeps were big disappointments.

True,, but just looking for ballpark numbers here. Us old farts are definitely in the minority as suspected.

Had to buy one before they screwed up the 4runners like they did the tacomas, and how Nissan messed up the Pathfinder/killed the Xterra, etc...:flame:
