Dented my 2015 TE Lift Gate

Sucks! Yesterday I backed into a tree and pushed the lift gate in. Wish I could say I was out wheeling, but, no, I was backing into a parking stall at Golden Corral Buffet in Marysville WA. Turns out the tree is growing out and over the parking lot instead of reaching for the sun. It is Washington, maybe the building Buffet lights are brighter than the Sun.

Estimate is at 1,965. $300 deductible.

Remove the interior hatch panels and anything that get in the way to access the backside of the sheet metal, call your local dent fix it man (or ask who dealerships and auto body shops use) and I bet for $1-$200 they will get that to where you won’t even notice..........and if they can't no way would I pay 2grand to get that fixed unless your truck is a trophy queen ( nothing wrong with that, but in my mind the 4runner is an ugly trophy ) but it does sucks that a GOOD story doesn’t come along with the dent.
 
That quote seems extremely high for what it is.

I had a rear bumper, bumper valence, and tow hitch replaced new, and a large dent fixed after I was rear-ended last year for about $20 more than what you were quoted... and they had to paint everything to match.

Pulled the hatch panel and the strangest thing you cannot see the dent from the inside. Must be a another panel that all the harnesses are attached separating me from the body metal. I"ll leave apart and stop by a place called dent destroyers tomorrow on my way to work.
 
the only problem I see it that its on a crease.

paintless dent repair could pop it back out, but on a crease it may crack the paint when they pop the dent.

but I am no expert so you would have to ask a dentless repair person.

Went to see PDR guy today, he said the same that it would most likely crack the paint on two body lines.

One body shop would pull the dent Apply bondo to smooth the lines and feather the paint match.

Another will replace lift gate with a factory gate, about $800 more than the bondo repair. I'm going with new gate on the new 4R.
