Designing a PCK for the 5th Gen, need some input..

Any idea on what something like this would roughly cost to weld on? I don't know anything about welding but it seems like it'd be relatively easy for an experienced welder. Would I need to give them the instructions on page 5 of this thread or would/should they already know all of that? I was just starting my research on lift kits and trying to figure out what all the other supporting parts I would need (panhard bar adjustment, UCAs, etc.). Would I be correct in thinking that this could go ahead and be welded onto my car and my panhard bar would still go in the stock location and then when I install my lift later on, I just bolt it up to the appropriate hole to make it horizontal again? I've seen the 3rd gen thread and gone through this one and it seems like you've made it so there's no interference at all with any other part of the car.
Thanks for the help and thanks for making this!

Yep! :)

4th gen

That's great that it fits the 4th gen! Can I just order through the website on the first page? Because I just read this threat and this is definitely something I want. Can I order it in a couple weeks or will you still stop producing them?

So forgive me I'm new to lifting vehicles (only race care stuff). Am I correct in assuming that after a lift 2.5 or greater that the panhard bar get thrown out of wack. So when you install it lifted it's literally shifting the axel and throw off the geometry?

Hi there, I haven’t seen an issue with strength, although the factory mount would indeed be the weak point with this kit - it uses thinner gauge steel than I would, but it is tied into the spring mount, so it does have a good foundation.

As far as bringing the body back into alignment; at rest, any approach can do that. The PCK is designed to correct geometry issues that affect handling, in addition to returning the axle center at rest.

It explains the fundamental issues with an extended panhard bar in conjunction with a lift kit better than I can.

Pretty much. Watch the vidoe in the post I quoted. It explains things pretty well.

Installed and feeling awesome. I installed my new rear springs too so I can't say for sure it's all the PCK but it handles much better now!

Ordered Tuesday night and showed up today, thanks for the quick shipping!

Works great on my 4th gen

Haven’t check it on an ATI ramp yet but I’m sure I’m even on both sides now.

So a quick update on the PCK after install. I have the CaliFab panhard bar and I’m only able to use the bottom hole on the bracket. I’ve adjusted the panhard as short as it can go and the driveshaft is still hitting the gas skid and full flex. My next step is to either get a stock panhard bar or go back to the stock mount. Full disclosure this is with long travel and no sway bar.

yeah, if you're longer than stock you're going to be shoved even closer to the tank. stock or stock-length.

With KDSS and KDSS compatible Panhard bar

I have ordered and received the Panhard correction kit seen here for my 5th gen with KDSS. When I initially installed my lift (Icon with extended travel) my Panhard bar would contact my KDSS track bar at full droop. I since added the adjustable Panhard bar by Icon with the 5 degree bend in it (seen in the 1st picture). This helped some but occasionally at full extension the Panhard bar will contact the KDSS system. Therefore the solution was to try this kit out or go with the sonoran steel Panhard bar that is designed with the bends in it (2nd picture). With the correction kit being <100$ and the new Panhard bar being nearly 400$ I decided to go this route. Plus would also be to restore normal geometry. My question for this thread is this. Will I be ok using the Panhard bar with the slight 5 degree bend in it (it can be made stock length) or should I replace it with a stock length straight (no bend) Panhard bar (OEM vs. ICON vs other brand).

As far as function goes, the bar doesn't know it is/is not straight; I'm assuming the 5 degree bend is to clear some KDSS component, or the crossmember above? In either case, I like how it retains a fixed bushing at one end to fight twisting motion.

I'd say give it a shot - and let us know how it goes! It'll be good data.

Any (good) welders out in So Cal? I had my muffler shop weld on my MBRP muffler instead of keeping the band clamps due to not being able to get those suckers to not drip water...and their welds were uggggly.

Def want to get this PCK for my rig. Very legit!!
