Diff and T-Case Oil? Maintenance Question

So I'm wondering if I should consider changing my diff and t-case oil during my next oil change? I should have around 30-31K when that comes around... I do go off-roading maybe once a month (4WD) for <30miles a session. Most of the time is spent in 4-Hi. Could some maintenance experts chime in?

I changed mine at 12,000 just because I wanted synthetic Royal Purple in it instead of OEM dyno stuff. But in reality you can go another 30K on your stock oil without need to change it.

Doesn't the transfer case for these use a different weight oil that isn't readily available...only via Toyota?

I posted a similar question a few weeks ago. If the factory oil was synthetic, was just going to leave it until the recommended change. If dino, was going to change out this summer.

I typically use Amsoil and noticed they don't have the recommended formulation.

Synthetic gear oil is far superior to dyno stuff over time.

Transfer case calls for 75 weight gear oil which is not common but even Toyota mechanics said to use 75w-90 with out worry.

Toyota gear oil is crazy expensive. Check out the price in your area. That alone made me not worry about using 75w-90 synthetic.

I went with Mobile 1 75w90 synthetic. Gas mileage went up slightly. No regrets.

Correct me if I'm wrong, SAE 90W is what is put in the diffs and txfer case from the factory. It only comes in synthetic, hence the 60,000 mile oil change intervals. Maybe [MENTION=66316]1engineer[/MENTION] can comment about it?

I would change at 60,000 per factory recommendations.

For the 4th gen made in the USA, they may have put 75W90 dino oil in the diffs?
