First off have a good diff lock switch out of a 97 4Runner - 20$ shipped
Second I have an abandoned project from a long time ago. I'll give the details I remember, I won't know much more than what's in the thread.
It is a non-sunroof JDM field monitor unit housing for 3rd gen 4Runner, it was originally gray, I painted it tan using VHT Acura tan paint.
I then disassembled a USDM subaru field monitor unit and took all the parts out the key difference is that the unit reads in imperial measurements instead of metric. This includes the screen, main board and the compass board as I remember. The main board and screen were carefully glued into place in the JDM housing using black epoxy. The face of the uni LT was slightly smaller than the hole left by the original so there is a visible gap mainly on the right side. The way its glued in protrudes very slightly past the housing, I never checked fitment.
I did wire it up to the pins on the board but I wasn't and still am not great at that kind of work so ideally you'd redo it. The board is clearly marked with what goes where so that makes it easy.
After that it's sat for a long time collecting dust in a warm dry place not being knocked around.
Also included is a new temperature sensor from subaru.
Asking 180 shipped, somewhat firm. Could be a one of a kind piece like I originally intended if you finish up the legwork.
