Seriously, how does that even get produced when KDSS is standard? Localization is fine IF the changes are clearly communicated. However, Toyota sucks at that kind of thing.

(2010) KDSS is not standard. It is an upgradeable option on the TE.

Don't feel bad! Coming from a non-KDSS TE owner you will be fine. If you plan on upgrading your suspension the benefits of KDSS slowly diminish.
With only bilsteins and SAWs the ride is exactly where I want it on road and so far have encountered nothing off-road where I've said to myself "I wish I had KDSS". The rear locker and A-TRAC will get you to the top of most mountains!
You'll find plenty of SR5 and limited owners who have wheeled harder than a lot of TEs here...with or without KDSS and I think I speak for a lot of them when I say "KDSS....:moon:"
...of course if you keep your suspension stock and do little wheeling KDSS is superior to any other upgrade offered by Toyota and you can disregard any comments above!

The hood scoop looks great, but at the right angle it catches glare from the sun and it's BRIGHT!
I second that. Anytime I'm driving into the sun, the reflections off the hood scoop are irritating and the sun shade doesn't help.

Just don't wash and wax it and the glare will go away... Seriously though, I wear polarized sunglasses and have never had any issues with it.

I've always thought the TE should not have been a separate model, but the features should have been offered as a Trail Package for the SR5 and the LTD.
But that is not the Toyota way.

In another thread someone who worked at FourWheeler said this Trail model did not have KDSS. No lift either... simply a Tire swap.
Seems like you should have no problem overcoming anything you encounter in ANY 4WD 4Runner as long as you get some good shoes on the wheels.

That Trail also lacks black handles, mirrors, and roof rack... That's weird.

Yup, put a set of A/T's on that beast and let'er rip. Even a stock SR5 T4R is plenty capable, if the driver is up to the task.
