Do you roll with your window down?

It not only rolled, but when it hit the ditch it flew! Who knew 4Runners had THAT feature!
This is a classic example of teenage inexperience driving. Our son (17 at the time of the accident) was driving with three of his friends. He came around a local street with a "Dead Man's Curve" which has a wicked dip in the road right at the curve and the bump threw the 4Runner into the oncoming lane. Another car was approaching so he swerved to the right to get back into his lane, went off the road with the right side and then oversteered immediately to get back onto the road. Then the merry-go-round began. Four rotations down the road with the final one catching the right front tire in a ditch that flipped them completely over a driveway in the air, landing right side up. As you can see, the right front passenger door was peeled back during the rollover.
All four boys walked away from the wreck because they wore their seatbelts. Nothing else was a cause in the accident, just overreacting to a situation and inexperience in how to handle dropping a tire off the side of the roadway.

I love the open feeling...
On a cold day, I'll roll the rear door windows and the tail gate window down.
On a warm day, they're all down.
I think being able to remotely open and close the tail gate window is the best...
Except if the wife is along, then all the windows are up 'cus she likes climate control and 72 deg. :bash:

Mine are always down, don't like the a/c.
majmattmason: I had an experience like that with my first runner. It was inexperience and overcorrecting that caused the 3 rolls. That is a great line, if it's okay I used it in my sig.

When its not raining/snowing/90-100% humidity or allergy season i usually roll down the front pass. and driver window and of course the sunroof. Rarely the back window for obvious reasons (stinky). One exception is when on the highway with the wife in the car, the noise is too loud and hurts her ears?!

I roll with all the windows down sunroof open and rear window down all the time. Everyday on the way home from work or on the weekends I always have them down I love the fresh air and the wind. It's a nice relaxing thing to do when I get off work roll all the windows down crank the stereo and forget about my stressfull day. I live in San Diego near the beach so there aren't to many days when it's too cold or raining here where I have to put them up

I don't get the whole sulfur rotten eggs smell in my 03 sport V8??? Everyone seems to complain about that but I've never smelled it and I always have the rear window down wether in heavy traffic city/highway or anything even at a dead stop I don't smell it

My Jeep is for fresh air and sunshine. My 4runner is as quiet as a towncar and I enjoy it for that.
On that rollover:
A friend of mine overcorrected in the same way and slid sideways into the oncoming pickup. She broke her neck and wore a halo for months. Her oldest son died, the middle one has brain damage and is just now 3 yrs later walking without a cane. The youngest was shielded by his oldest brother. My boys are the same ages as theirs. I hope they remember this when they start driving. (2 years from now) I'm glad your kid and friends came out alright.
