Dobinsons 5th Gen T4R Suspension options - from Exit Offroad

Do the doninsons rear springs left right compensate for drivers side lean ? I just installed c59-701's and the drivers side is an inch lower then the pass. side. No kdss. Should i swap the springs? Add a spacer. Im assuming the shop that instaled them put them on the right aide if they were labeled.

Those 701V coils are even height. The KDSS rear coils are offset height.

1" difference? My guess is that either you have a lot of weight on one side, or both coils weren't installed properly.

What accessories do you have in the truck?

**EDIT: now I see that you have every accessory known to man, and most likely the load is not balanced from left to right, creating a lean. You say you have all this:

i found some real level ground and checked again its only about 1/2' low on the drivers side when the gas tank is full. but once i add another 220 to the drivers seat its probably lower


any chance of getting a custom C59-801V for 800lb+ carry my b1tch is heavy.. lol i have 701s but could use about an .75-inch more lift fully loaded. im probably going to add a 10mm spacer to the drivers side for now temperarily


im measuring about 23.165 axle center to fender on drivers and 23.5 on pass side. front measures 23". id like to be closer to 24" in the rear.

Are you sure about that? Sounds like you have 10" of lift

I think your weight isn't balanced from left to right. Maybe get a race scale under each wheel to check. 200LBS offset to one side can easily affect "the lift height", but it could also lead to driving issues. With everything in the vehicle including the kitchen sink, I'd be looking more at your load before adding more parts to it. Once you know it's as balanced from left to right, then add spacers as necessary.

No, we don't plan on adding any more coils to the range.

Looks like entirely too much rake man. I'd give it 100 miles or 2 and see how it looks, but you may need to adjust the front some.

Every rear coil I've ever installed has settled over time. Did you happen to take before and after measurements? Since your tire size didn't change either a ground to fender or hub to fender measure would help.

I did have measurements, not sure what the correct method was.. But these were from ground to fender. Same parking spot before after.

How much lift are people getting from the 599 springs? I see they are listed as .75", but on the new photo album they are being listed as 1". Can anyone that's installed them post their results.

That photo from the album is a guy in this thread, but I can't remember his name. Also, be good to get updated hub to fender measurements from him to see what the lift height is at.

But yeah, 100-150LBS can cost 1/4" of lift height if placed in the right spot, so all of the lift heights are susceptible to variance.

The front end looks like a stock hight. Are you planning to lift the front to match the rear? IE ... 2in rear lift and 2in front lift keeps the the factory rake. 2in rear and 0in in the front would be about what you have. If you didn't install a lift in the front, then what you have seems right.

Also if you installed longer springs with the OEM TRDPro shocks, they may not be able to handle the longer travel.

We have the C59-448 and C59-675V on this 4runner, but they're on our MRR shocks and the front is adjusted up just a little higher than the 3" mark.

Heyo, I sent an email on Sept 6th but hadn't heard back. It was probably to long a read and made no sense, lol.

Shortly, I'm interested in the KDSS setup for my 2014 TE;

C59-724 - Stock front end load, 1.75" lift. 375/370mm, 18mm wire, 730LB
C59-723 - Stock rear end, 1.25" to 1.5" lift, offset height coils for KDSS leveling. 420/405mm, 17mm wire, 228LB

But I wanted to ask about the front 724's, because the header you created states it's for "(Recommended for heavy loaded front ends, due to increased spring rates)" but at the same time the line states "stock front end load."

Is it for stock, or are all those front KDSS springs listed for heavy loaded front ends? I carry about 150-200lbs in the rear all the time and will one day get the lightest front bumper I can get. Tell me and take my money, lol.

...and I still don't understand the leveling compensation having to be mechanical. I'm new to the forum and will continue to look to why loosening the shutter valves before I install, or just adjusting it afterwards like these guys wouldn't just fix or prevent it, if necessary in the first place. (And it's these same guys who say just loosen the valves before install anyway to prevent it "most of the time.") I understand that is an argument for another thread and will continue looking for it, but I ask here in case you covered it somewhere else and could point me to it.

Neither here nor there. Either way if the lowest I can go on springs is an average 1.5 taller (1.75 front and 1.25 back) and absolutely murder the brake dive the truck has I'd be happy. I like the KDSS, and I want to keep as close to the engineer's original geometry I can get while staying on 265's for mpgs. If I could go 1 inch front and back without spacers I'd do it. Because of this I am leaning on getting your 722's just for the 1.25... but that will be up to me to live with. Thoughts anyone?
