Dobinsons 5th Gen T4R Suspension options - from Exit Offroad

Interesting. I had a Toyota tech do my alignment who has been the only tech to work on mine as I know him personally. We were able to get 2.9 degrees of caster and get toe and camber pretty close to oem spec.

As far as measuring, the fender measurements previously were 20" front and 22" rear, I am now seeing just under 22" up front and now 24.2" rear. So that might make sense as I am still seeing roughly the same rake. Although the fronts lifted exactly as advertised and the rears are now sitting a full 2" taller instead of the 1" or so advertised. Do you have your measurements available from a hub to fender perspective?

I always find that one hard to get an accurate measurement on but about 21.75 front, 23.75 rear. But the front of my rocker trim and the rear of my rocker trim (the big thick 2011 SR5 rocker trim) are both exactly 14" off the ground. Hard to measure the frame with those on but around 15" all around. The rocker trim and frame are parallel. I'll be taking those big rockers off tonight or tomorrow to install sliders and can get a better frame measurement then but I'm confident it's within 1/4" or so all around.

I didn't take before/after measurements because I don't really care. In general I don't care about the looks of my off-road vehicles but the original butt in the air stance did bother me a bit and it was the front I was scraping off road. In the end I went with springs spec'd to be 1" more lift in the front than rear just like people around here say and sure enough, the frame is pretty much dead level.

All of this is with a winch on the front and my recovery gear in the rear. They probably balance out more-or-less.

I was looking at my phone before and remembering incorrectly - my setup's not quite the same as yours. I have a full Dob's setup.

Just to repeat:

Front: C59-300, GS59-700
Rear: C59-599, GS59-701

With my setup I definitely feel small road imperfections much more than on the stock suspension but it corners pretty flat and doesn't nose-dive under braking. I'm used to stiffly sprung sportscars so I think it's a huge improvement on-road but not everyone will agree. I absolutely hated the way it wallowed around like a ship in rough seas with the stock suspension. Off road though it's like a magic-carpet ride - absolutely brilliant!

This looks like a perfect, simple lift. Could you take some more photos on flat ground from different angles, and directly from the side?

Also, how did your alignment numbers come out with stock UCAs? How does it steer at highway speed?

Sorry, forgot to post the alignment numbers. I'm not familiar with these so maybe someone can tell me if they're good.. the truck rides nice though! So I'm assuming they aren't too bad lol.

Does anyone know if Dobinsons UCAs have issues getting a good alignment? They are not as adjustable as other options but I like the idea of a lower maintenance OEM style UCA for a lifted vehicle. I am lifting my 2013 4runner about 3” in the front and 2-2.5” in the rear.

Maybe its in my head, but the ride gets smoother the more miles you put on it. 100% glad I went with these springs.

Maybe its in my head, but the ride gets smoother the more miles you put on it. Rear is still sitting at 24" with the 599's but I haven't had anyone in the back seat or towed or put any weight, going to try that and see what happens. Still 100% glad I went with these springs.

I'm running the 325's (sliders and roof rack) and measure 24" and agree with the "break in period".

I'm wondering what hub to fender measurement people are getting with the 675V unloaded.

After parking next to a stock 5th I think I pair of 675V are in my future as well as the rear sway bar links. I didn’t even know those were available until about 5 minutes ago.

Finally got around to installing my springs I’ve had since November!

Thanks Mike!!!

Our dealer up in New England (Bow, NH), Main Line Overland, just finished this 5th Gen yesterday.

Using these parts:
C59-302 - 2.5" front
GS59-700 - front struts
C59-505 - 1.5" rear
GS59-701 - rear shocks

Mike, any issues with suspension travel up front with this setup? I'd want to run this setup but the front page notes the GS59-700 should be limited to 2" front lift. I'd be running stock weight up front for at least some time.

Apologies if I'm missing something; you and your dealers obviously know a lot more than I do.
